This might be the most careless I have ever been as a canes fan....we didn't even win the offseason smh I'm broken
Since the season ended we landed a top 7 class and a really good portal class. Upgraded the entire staff / scheme. Added two stud starters on the interior and a five star tackle outside. On top of flipping the entire roster. I know the recruiting class has been a bummer so far but some of y’all are off your rockers lol. There’s plenty of positives. Let’s wait until we lose two in a row before we drink bleach friend.

Fair enough, but we've failed to land any IMG kids this year thus far. Land Stone and maybe the narrative changes, but Robinson, Jackson, Stone, Jordan Seaton, Lindsey, etc.

That's why I think we need to land Stone. We need that IMG pipe AND he's a true talent AND we've only got one more DT at bat after him in Breland.

I don't want to hear about Jackson's My Brother and I Miss My Dad. The kid has already proven he's willing to live in FL to do what's best for him and his family. he also said he's very happy with that decision. So Mario/Guidry/JT/Salave'a need to make sure he believes being in Miami is best for him and his family.

You right…thanks for the reminder

I think Miami will pay anything to get these kids i think the nil factor is over stated , its really the on field product and the constant coaching overhauls we make, alot of these kids never saw miami be good , wasn't Miami fans growing up, we went 5-7 last year and these kids love who ever winning at the time and its starts to build a pipeline that's why we Ohio state , Georgia and bama always stealing guys out our backyard.
Sure, that explains why 5-7 aTm, 5-7 Auburn, 6-7 FU, and 6-7 Oklahoma are all ahead of us. It's on field performance.

The simple fact of the matter is the staff is getting worked on the trail and they know it. It's funny hearing excuse after excuse for why it's occuring, because the staff themselves led by Mario know there is no excuse for it. They also know they need to make changes to there approach, which they have unfortunately been slow to do this cycle.
This and I don’t want to hear a ******* thing about overpaying. There is no such thing. Pay the goddamm money required or we gonna be mediocre forever

We could go in circles all day on this topic......but I side with the ones that are saying on-field is the biggest issue. I agree those teams stunk. But does teams, save for TAMU, have been relevant in these kid's lifetimes. We can under-emphasize how god-awful we've been for so **** long. Lets hope it changes this year.

we have a great TE, Rb, and two very good wr's in this class. Lightfoot and Rudolph can be very good at DE. its not end of world.

Two questions. And pretend (not hard) that I'm dumb.

1. Are you saying this year's plan all along was to recruit nationally and we should expect a lot of misses?

2. Is south Florida loaded next cycle?
Yes the plan was to go national this class , they just didn’t expect to get their brains bashed in, and yes they know they’re getting their brains bashed in.

SFla is down this cycle especially in the trenches so going national was a must.

Mario and mirabal hold weight with OL. Our NIL was and is good so we landed a great line class last year. Last year was the perfect storm with the bump class and the OL five stars. This year we are recruiting at an above average not elite level

Yes, that's extreme imo. I probably come off as agitated and restless, but it's more that I've seen this song and dance before...the whole "we're not spending money" thing, the evals...it's PTSD.

It's more frustrating than anything else because we allegedly have the tools necessary to compete and alter the trajectory in which this program has followed the past two decades, and '23 showed that. But '24 hasn't, and now we also need to win on the field in order to save both the perception of Miami football under Mario Cristobal, and the '24 class. It's just added pressure we shouldn't have to deal with, but we have put ourselves in this position.
No one wants to hear excuses in 2023 after we’ve been dealing with it for 20 years

**** it causes me physical pain to sometimes say things we’ve been told so many times in the past only to see it be nonsense

Not sure what Mario’s ultimate trajectory here is but he’s been a good coach (with ups and downs) he’s been a monster recruiter, he cares more about this program than all of us psychos combine probably, he takes recruiting more personally than all of us combined probably

It’s been a really tough calendar year and everyone is kinda over it

I don’t know if we completely flip the script this fall from last, but I think it’s going to be a good next few months for all of us

Oklahoma, sure, what exactly have the others accomplished? We last had a 10 win season in 2017. Teams will overpay. We saw players get paid for skipping an OV. Players get paid to commit at certain events, even if they won't stick. There's a long way to ESD, this will all change. Winning will help, but it's not the only factor.

Atm's last 10 win seasons: 2012
Auburn's was 2017 like us.
FU's was 2019, so you could make that argument although they dropped off a cliff after that.

when youre recruiting OL, marios name carries weight. when you recruit DL against other elite defensive teams, our coaches names dont hold weight. theres a reason we also do well at the edge position since manny came on as DC.

Miami’s NIL program sucks. I’m not talking about money. Ruiz’s implosion, while foreseeable, definitely didn’t help. But throwing the keys to him and his sons, as many of us warned, was the root cause of putting us behind the curve. For example, we did next to zero groundwork over the last year to build relationships with key player representatives across the country. That, at a minimum, has severely limited our diligence, imo, likely leading to miscalculations. I’m sure that will be fixed now that adults are taking over.

Auburn is also only 1 spot ahead of us in the rankings.

Oklahoma has 13 seasons of 10+ wins since 2006 and multiple appearances in the CFP. Florida has 7 seasons of 10+ wins and 2 NCs since 2006. Auburn has 4 seasons of 10+ wins and a NC since 2006. Texas A&M only has 1 season of 10+ wins since 2006 but they do have 7 bowl wins.

Miami has 1 season of 10+ wins since 2006 and all of 2 bowl wins. Spin it however you want to, but we don't even measure up to Auburn since 2006 (and they have arguably played a much tougher schedule over that time). These kids haven't seen UM win in their lifetimes

Those teams are in the sec and kids want to play in the sec. And they are seen as being better than miami
