You only get so many chances

8-4 next year if lucky.
Name the 4 L ? We’re not losing to the gators or FSU . ND maybe , y’all need to get off Lagway nuts . 135 yards tonight 2td 1 interception isn’t something that puts you in that elite category

If we rank ahead of Bama and South Carolina by the comittee this week we are literally an SMU win in ACCCG away from still making the Playoffs.

Literally Locks Win or Lose: Oregon, Texas, PSU, ND, Ohio St, UGA, UTenn, SMU
Locks with win: Clemson, B12 Champ, G5 Champ
12th Seed: Miami, Alabama, South Carolina or Ole Miss

I think ACC probably deserves 2 teams this year.
Yeahunless Clemson wins we don’t , we lost and should be in the toilet bowl not the playoffs

Not going anywhere?

Speak for yourself.

I’m done with this **** show.

I’ve given enough to this program, especially over the last 2 years. Enough is enough.

I’m walking away from this **** heap. I sugggest you do the same.
On the bright side next year we won't have the best offense in the country so it won't be as big of a disappointment when we get into death struggles with basketball schools yet again.

Going into year 4 with an 8 million dollar coach and we’re still talking about discipline and culture problems.

We had a cupcake schedule and still couldn’t make it to the ACC title game. SMU has as many appearances in that game as Miami and they’ve been in the conference 20 fewer seasons…and they’re doing it with several Miami rejects.

Good luck to Mario trying to sell his image for Miami.
The ol $8M coach thing again huh lol, hilarious.

How many coaches make $8M or more? Where are we going to be ranked this year?

I agree with you.

Bama got their asses handed to by OU. Ole Miss lost to UiF, which we killed—USCe Lost to both Bama and Ole Miss.

Miami is the only one with 10 wins. We lost to two ACC teams, tho.

You forgot Indiana who is a lock

The most concerning thing is to me (outside of the OL) it doesn’t look like Mario is really building anything sustainable

We had a once in a decade type QB that led us to most of our wins. Without him what is this team. Where is Mario’s effect on the team vs. Cam’s effect?

I just don’t see it. He’s suppose to bring us top notch talent, yet we have holes all over the place on the defensive side of the ball. Physicality, non existent

Honestly this board actually makes following the team worst.

I’m sorry D$ you pour a lot into this and when it first started this place was fresh and different than the old place.

But towards the end of the Richt era through now this place has fallen apart.

The jaded nature of this fan base and lack of mods

(plus the overly purposefully obnoxious ad placements that seeks to manipulate me into paying for premium which has the opposite effect btw.)

Have robbed this board of what made it special.

There use to be objective commentary, actual football talk. Actual recruiting talk and discussion of players.

Now it’s just beat down fans creating biased post, fudging data and rewriting history to support their agenda.

As if any of that is even needed when all you have to do is simply watch the product on the field.

Heck I even saw in a thread where a someone called the #4 and #7 ranked recruiting classes “mid”… it just doesn’t make sense.

You open a thread about a recruit and it’s 4 pages of porsters calling each other “cuck boy”…I can’t even type that out without laughing hysterically but I don’t know if I’m laughing at it or with it.

Our own fans on this site talks more trash about coaches and players than our “rivals”.

And what’s crazy is when I talk to diehard canes fan who aren’t on this board. They are just as frustrated with the results but have totally different outlook on the overall perspective on the program and are capable of having a level discussion on the good and bad.

Again…someone literally tried to claim that the #4 recruiting class was “trash”. Idc if the players never amount to anything that doesn’t change the class ranking.

And I disagree there will be more games and more seasons and lord’s will I’ll be around to see them and I hope soon we’ll be hoisting that trophy.

But at the end of the day…following and rooting for this team is hobby and life is too short not to enjoy the victories because it wasnt perfect.

I don’t know what this team will do next season.

Cuz I don’t know how the roster will shake out.

But I do know if anyone wants to enjoy next season whether we got 12-0 or 7-5 you won’t find it here.

We are 10-2 seen more touchdowns than in any season before and this place has been insurable since VaTech.
Another Cane board self-destructs. A tale as old as time.

This one hurts deep in the soul. We had a chance for a special season and blew it. Every November feels the same for the past 20 years.

I'll dig deeper on rewatch, but my big picture view is this: Miami fell to its true level. We won games we could've lost, and we lost games we could've won. At the end, we were who we were all year.

We have a national championship offense. We have a bad defense. And we lack discipline overall. We came into this game ranked 120th in penalty yards per game. With the season on the line, we made two of the most immature penalties in team history. That was not a fluke.

Add it all up, and you get 10-2. Do I expect major defensive staff changes? Yes. But that isn't the only area we need to improve.

Mario ultimately owns all of it. He missed a rare opportunity. Now, the ownership cuts both ways- you can't blame him for the defensive misses and then ignore the strength of the offense. We were blessed to have Cam Ward, but he also landed Cam Ward and built his supporting cast. The question now becomes whether we can improve elsewhere enough to compensate for the loss of such a unique and special player.

This season will be remembered one of two ways: the beginning of something sustainable, or a fun, ultimately disappointing fluke like 2017. For true progress, this team needs to remake its defensive identity. You can fire coaches and recruit better DBs. But when you get bowled over by an Arena League running back with the season on the line, that's a cultural issue. When you look confused all year, it's deeper than talent. We had four NFL players in the 2022 secondary, and we looked just as lost as we did this year.

Was there progress? Of course. Should anyone expect us to build on that progress? That's a hard sell. The fanbase has every reason to be cynical. But none of us are going anywhere, so let's hope the build continues and we have enough material to tell lies this summer.

Whoever the next DC is, has to bring ENERGY

Remember how far FSU fell in one season when it lost its elite QB. We needed this season to be a massive success. Now looking at at 7-8 win season (if we’re lucky) in year 4 for Cristobal and coming in with a recruiting class that isn’t better than ones Al Folden brought in while UM had the ncaa trying to give it the death penalty. 7 wins in year 3 got Manny Diaz fired - and that was coming off an 8-3 shortened season.

120th in penalties is f#cking criminal. That is a clear indicator that Cristobal has failed to instill whatever culture he envisioned. If I’m an AD or booster, I look at this season the same way I look at a coach whose defense gave up 760 yards in a game we had to win to keep pace for the ACC championship game.

My gut feeling is Cristobal needs to pull a Bobby Bowden and basically be a HC in name only, while a high caliber coordinator is the one who actually runs the show. He can show up on the recruiting trail and flash his rings, but that’s about it. That’s the only model I can see for Cristobal winning a chip. He simply isn’t going to develop into a decent game day coach at this point in his career.

Pay an elite DC whatever he asks for, bring him as DC and let him the de facto HC. I’ll get crazy here- we need actual discipline. Maybe it’s time for a service academy DC like Army’s Nate Woody.

I've been banned from this website more times than I can count. The biggest reason is that I'm smarter than most of you. I mope when you guys are drinking kool-aid, and you find reasons to ban me for it. But I end up being right every single time. I called 7 wins in 2023 and was dead right. I called 9 wins prior to 2024 and was off by a game.

The other thing I do is I don't get as low as you guys when we lose. It's not the end of the **** world, yall. We weren't winning the natty this year anyway.

We can easily build on what we did this year and make the ACCCG next year. It's just going to depend on what they do this offseason, whether we have the money, and whether our money people are willing to spend it. Because it's going to cost a fortune. We need a ton of starters on every level of the defense. We need another top quarterback. We need a top 5 high school class.

That stuff won't be cheap. But if our money people want it, it's there to be had.

The core of this year's team - Mario's first two recrutiing classes - were only freshman and sophomores this year. Stack another top 5 class on top of that and add some starters out of the portal and there's no reason we shouldn't be contending for the ACC in 2025. But again, we'll have to see what the NIL people want to do and how badly they want to win.
