One thing Cristobal has showed is he’s willing to improve on an aspect that was detrimental the previous year every season since he’s been here. I expect The same with the defense
Didn’t Diaz do that as well? Was the first Coach to ditch “pro style” after Enos flopped. Got a terrific coordinator in Lashlee. Needed help with recruiting, got T-Rob, also tried to get a top notch LB coach but he got a promotion elsewhere. He brought in a true dual threat QB in King. First time we had one of those in eons.
looked to me like he was evolving as a first time coach and learning from his mistakes. The one he didn’t fix was his belief in his defensive scheme. Ironically though if we had a Diaz defense it would have been 10x better than what we had this year, and with our offense would be good enough to compete for #6.
Cristobal started off going backwards, he saw UMs success with a spread offense, yet chose bro style and Gattis. Many of us couldn’t believe he would undo the one thing that worked under Diaz . So Cristobal gets credit for unf#cking a mess that he made? And then he jettisoned all the Diaz players because he wanted his own guys for his culture, resulting in one of the most penalized teams in the country.
Diaz needed help with DB recruiting so he hired T-Rob. Cristobal needed help with DB recruiting and hired Chevis Jackson.
who has Cristobal hired to fix the biggest deficiency- lack of preparation and discipline? Cristobal has done one thing well- get Cam Ward. And that’s the end of the list of positives.
