If the funniest outcome is the one that happens, SMU will kill Clemson and Miami will still make the CFP somehow and we get a playoff win lol

Locks: Oregon, Ohio St, Indiana, PennSt, Texas, UGA, Utenn, ND, B12 Champ, Boise St, SMU

So For us to have any shot SMU needs to beat Clemson.
It's between US, South Carolina, and Alabama for the 12th spot imo

Pretty sure that was Cam pulling it and throwing instead of taking the easy run 1-3x and get the TD
 
This one hurts… but it’s 10 wins and it was a record breaking season with having the best QB in the nation ! But what could have been!

Being up 21 -0 makes it hurt even worse.
 
I’ve stood in the paint on many group chats, and this forum, sticking up for Mario. I’ve wanted him to be involved with this program in some capacity, including HC when Richt was hired and then Manny, since he was fired from FIU. It is well known he required many things before saying yes to the job offer to come back. The buy in from the school to increase the budget, his salary, improvement in facilities, game day atmosphere and the list goes on. He has now shown that he can’t beat inferior talent when it matters most, despite having the significantly better roster and greater resources. Recruiting just inside the top 10 may not be enough. He recruited a Heisman finalist and the best QB in the country with the #1 offense in the country and it made no difference. No trip to Charlotte.

We all want him to right the ship. But the confidence that he’s the one to do it has significantly plummeted.

If some of you think this roster is top 10 in the nation then you are as lost as guidry is. This program needs to decide if we want to truly compete or not. Its obvious that not wanting to "overpay" for players or staff gets you inconsistent results. We either put our money where our mouth is or shut up about being a title contender and enjoy our 10 win season every 4/5 years. G5 talent and G5 coaching gets you G5 results. You wasted cam ward this year due to poor evaluations in both recruiting and portal in addition to Mario's failure to get staff right. Either get with the times or rinse and repeat minus the generational qb

Well he cost us big today. If the gap between Bell at LT and McCoy at RG is even close you can’t play Bell because that’s Cams blindside. I’m sure he will get penciled in and be counted on for next year because of flashes or potential.

We already needed to decide that. We filled our CB hole with Dyoni Hill and went into the year with Jaden Harris starting at Safety because according to D$ we didn’t have endless money to throw around in the portal. So we have less than the big dogs to spend and we are corched by a dude who can barely tie his shoes. Do the math.

Yeah, true. He did a lot of that this year. Gotta live and die with Cam. Coach should then call a definitive running play vs giving Cam the option.

But in the end, we are a comedy of errors.

There isn’t enough money to be raised to fill in the talent Mario needs to compete for a national title. They should’ve realized that and hired somebody that could actually coach up a top 20 roster they could afford, to compete.

To be clear- I don’t think our QB next year will be anywhere near as good as Cam. He’s the best QB in the nation. But I don’t think he saves us from many sacks. He holds onto the ball more than anyone and hunts big plays. That’s part of what makes him so unique and special.

I hear ya. It just seems like it’s a little early to be qualifying our next QB. Not (another) Ward I get; but not as good is a stretch at this point, no?

They tried to get a nickel but came up short. That miss hurt us.
 
Miami 2024 is SADLY similar to 2022 USC. SPECIAL WIZARDRY at QB. Overcompensating for a putrid defense who you know can’t get a stop.

I don’t expect “bounce back” next season especially. FSU/UF and some of the teams we survived will be eagered to get after us and get payback. AND you got ND early.

Has 5-7/6-6 written all over it. 8-4 would be extreme ceiling and it wouldn’t be easy to get there.

You typically just don’t recover from something like this short coming. I think this was the peak barring some unbelievable miracle of backdooring into the playoff by a getting a GIFT and proving it once more. No chance the back room guys probably even allow an opportunity for it. Media had gone silent on Cam Ward in run up to finale/awards to set the table that nobody respects us and we won’t be give a benefit. Had to handle our own business.

A nuclear weapon hit us today. Very few survive and thrive on the other side.

Ponds, right? It certainly hurt. I would add, Powell, Kiko, Richard and Hill hurt us, too. Our evaluations in HS recruiting to the portal has been a **** show on defense. We miss on many kids because we didn’t want to spend the $, as well.

This season, Mario’s lack of depth in the roster and Guidry’s stupidity has literally cost kids $ because so many were playing out of position. I can’t wait to see Meisoder playing safety in the bowl game..

Let us not forget that we have needed DL, LB, CB and S for MULTIPLE CYCLES - so we missed on a nickel does not ring as well as it could if it was a 1 off

If we rank ahead of Bama and South Carolina by the comittee this week we are literally an SMU win in ACCCG away from still making the Playoffs.

Literally Locks Win or Lose: Oregon, Texas, PSU, ND, Ohio St, UGA, UTenn, Indiana, SMU
Locks with win: Clemson, B12 Champ, G5 Champ
12th Seed: Miami, Alabama, South Carolina or Ole Miss

I think ACC probably deserves 2 teams this year.
