I always thought ZP was over rated coming out in terms of people thinking 5 star. 4 star? That’s about right but he doesn’t look great vs college athletes so far. Let’s see if he turns it around.

Maybe but you can’t let Top 100 guys who are also local youth legends get away.

I’m no DB expert but he looked plenty good to me in HS relative to the others we’ve recruited. But I value your opinion and he didn’t start the whole season so the facts back you up.

Every single guy who played in the secondary looked confused most of the time last year. ZP had limited reps and is a true freshman. Did he get attacked - absolutely. He still needs to adapt to the college game but one thing I saw that I really appreciated was his willingness to tackle and attack the line of scrimmage and finish tackles in the run game. He just needs a better scheme/coach and a little time and I think he will be very productive and effective.

Aside from teaching/coaching he needs to be utilized to his strengths which is attacking playing downhill

If we get Lucas we'll have 16-17 DBs on the rooster for Spring Practice. 3 will be out recovering from injuries, but I bet we see a bit more movement - out of the room for sure, don't know about into the room - after SP. In your opinion, why are so many here penciling Xavier Lucas in at Safety here if he comes? He played CB at Wisconsin and barely missed Freshman All American honors so why take a kid like that and move him to another position?

you weren't hype when he committed? lol.

He has been out of place bad on plays but he's athletic and can be a sure tackler. Problem is whether he can pick it up mentally and based on how Guidry coached, im willing to give him a shot with a new coach.
