WR Isaiah Horton signs papers to enter Portal

The timing of the transfer portal window is insane. At the very least it should be after bowl games ... maybe concurrent with the February signing period. The entire scenario has become a circus, and not enjoyable for sure.
Just ask Marshal fans.

Ain’t no fun when the rabbit got the gun 👀

If we had Oregon money, y’all wouldn’t be *****ing. The game is the game.

We were parading bags three years ago during the portal era, in fact we were doing it last year with Killa Cam.

Why is it all of a sudden a terrible thing for college football?

We still are. We are in it for a number of top transfer targets.

You say " Don't rip off the tags, I still have the receipt!!!!".... Then buy some games for Xbox or whichever game system you have and your kid will be fine.... 😁😁
LOL - excellent and pragmatic answer.

My kids are older now and listen to $hitty mumble rap. WTF is a Yeat? They look at me like I'm old cuz I still like Tupac and Snoop. Ya know what, F them. They're getting nothing for Christmas!

Sir, I understood your sarcasm. Was just attempting to leverage your clout as an elite poster to share my deep thoughts. Horton inspiration.

Seriously though, having no salary cap while offering two periods a year that players can leave/threaten to leave obviously isn't sustainable. There needs to be some regulation on the total dollars end, the length of time before a player can leave, or both.

I think two things are true here, which I was trying to get at with my porsts with @Calinative :
1. The current system sucks and is unsustainable, and Horton and his agent are simply rationally exploiting to their benefit (as they should)
2. Horton would have a lot less leverage had Horton not been the only WR in Mario's first 2 classes who is still here and contributed anything of note and had we recruited and kept a better QB in those first 2 classes than Emory Williams
I agree with everything you wrote. And don't call me Shirley Sir! I am a mediocre porster with a deviously perverted mind and a fair sense of humor.

Yes, if only Mario and the staff were monitoring the message boards so we could help them identify players to go after...
The message board would of told Em Terry Roberts , Savion Riley, Dyoni Hill wasn't it.
But here we are.

I think there are a few posters on here that would do a better job than a few in their recruiting department honestly. Like it isn't even up for debate either lol

We can disagree with the rules set in place & still celebrate benefiting from it. Sure, Cam was fun as heck to watch this season. I still feel icky knowing it came at the staff of Washington St hard work to get him there.

Don’t know hardly a single fan who wouldn’t trade in the success to have it back the old way. This era of mercenaries just isn’t as pure, regardless of the victor.

Win bc you deserve it, not bc you can afford it.

For sure, we should have signed Champ Bailey and Ed Reed and Caleb Downs and Deion Sanders. Unfortunately the portal doesn't really work like that. Sometimes you need bodies. If you think the staff was counting on Roberts and Riley and Hill to be catch all solutions, I think that is a bit altruistic.

Remember when we were being pitched on Cristobal changing the culture? lol

Same ****, different sandwich.
Everyone’s culture has now shifted since 2021.

People don’t get it. Each player becomes a free agent every year, after the REGULAR season concludes. Each player has the opportunity of testing the waters. And for some of them, there will be a Phil Knight willing to pay them more than what they are making. Pre 2021 norms no longer apply!

It’s good when we can buy up transfers but it’s bad when the ther teams buy up our players.

Huge loss if he goes. But at the same time, there’s a salary cap to this stuff so you can’t overpay everyone.

As it pertains to talent acquisition in the portal - we will be similar to the high school rankings avg - low teens to mid teens…..unless we have a new unknown booster to step in and try and bridge that gap the ACC media deal is costing us
