WR Isaiah Horton signs papers to enter Portal

To be fair what you guys got to understand about guys like Young and Horton is that they are borderline NFL players that are not guaranteed a spot on an NFL roster. Even if Young doesn't get drafted and never makes an NFL roster he at least probably made good money for himself by going into the transfer portal and is reaching his likely outcome regardless of what he decided last year: little to no NFL experience.

Even if he stayed in Miami with Cam Ward (we didn't have him when he entered the transfer portal) do you think he would of been a day 1 or 2 pick? If not, he probably wasn't going to make much money in the NFL anyways might as well cash out when his stock was the highest.

Sure he could of possibly had an Allen Hurns NFL career with nice money, but just as likely he could of had a Stacy Coley type.

Horton playing average at Bama or him playing above average here because he gets more target is not going to change his draft position or NFL chances by much, while it could be a big difference in money with NIL.

Young man wants to get paid and Bama apparently offering more than we are.
exactly
makes perfect sense to me
its just about the biggest bag
I bet other fanbases think that when any defensive player such as a DB would consider us
our defensive product was atrocious and were trying to attract talented players so its just about the bag

Ain’t no fun when the rabbit got the gun 👀

If we had Oregon money, y’all wouldn’t be *****ing. The game is the game.

We were parading bags three years ago during the portal era, in fact we were doing it last year with Killa Cam.

Why is it all of a sudden a terrible thing for college football?
It still would be **** if we had Oregon money. Just makes it harder to develop attachment to players. Part of the lure of CFB has always been watching guys develop over the years, now the sport is basically full of 1-year rentals throughout. Definitely affects the product negatively

Everybody was blaming JG3 for the Syracuse loss despite balling out. I've quietly never spoke on Horton Hears a Hoo's massive untimely drop. Cost us the game.

Lost in the stupidity of it all was the fact JG had 6 catches for 121 yards for the game. That said, I can't be convinced JG wasn't purposely (and stupidly) popping up into that defender's grill. Those sorts of bonehead antics after the whistle have left their mark on his career.

Of course, if Horton just catches the ball JG never gets the chance to act a fool. Horton was a non-factor the entire game, until he was a negative factor for us.

I wanted the SEC to die but I didn’t mean so Oregon could flourish

Let him go, no need for someone that doesn’t want to be a cane. Even if he was to come back, his heart wouldn’t even be in the right place. He made big plays, but also made critical drops. I would cut ties. He might even be the one Cam asked to come back to practice.

Wasn’t every report that Horton and Ward were basically attached at the hip? No reason to baselessly say ****.

Our best player on defense this year looked at leaving before he even went to a practice. This “Only want people that want to be here” stuff is outdated.

If a player is not happy then find the door. It’s that simple. Y’all freaked out over young and how did that turn out? Let em go. The first ones to jump are usually the ones who had a foot out from the get go.

What you are NOT considering is if Miami was offering Colby Young $250k for the year and UGA offered $350k .... was it really worth it in the end going to an offense that doesn't pass?

As for Horton, if he goes to Bama to chase $500k vs $350k he's equally a moron b/c he is guaranteed to be WR3 at Bama with a dog**** passing QB.

Exactly! Not all money is good money. Just being honest an extra 150k isn’t life changing when you already make 350k.

Our best player came via portal: Simeon Barrow
