Good Lord what’s going on here?

Keeps bringing in guys with a chip on their shoulder. Love it.
Total 180 from last year. I think maybe Mario wanted to try the big named coaches against his better judgment. He knew those coaches would be there for only a couple of years.

He realized now that he needs grinders that are hungry and up and coming.

Total guess here but a south Florida guy with a family. He may very well be happy going off field, living down here and spending more time at home with kids etc.
Idk any coaches who would be happy about this situation but hopefully you’re right. Feel bad for him but I heard great things about Woodiel.

Can’t imagine keeping up with Mario’s demands while being a family man. I couldn’t do it. Get old real quick!

I can see where being offered to work less for good money is appealing. Especially if Woodiel is his boy. Whether he stays or goes will tell us the real story.

Unless he’s getting paid more no way he is ok with this. As far as optics yes, that’s exactly what has to be said that he is happy with the change. The guy is relatively young in the coaching profession. Unless Mario is a specific role carved for him he is as good as done here.
Spin it how you would like.
All I can say now is after last year even if i were Mirabal no way this year can be comfortable. Mario ain’t ******* around and we should all be glad bc he got a very generous 10 year payday where he could hypothetically **** around. He wants to win so bad nobody’s safe.

Field left Oregon to have the exact same position four years later. 😬 I’d be less than happy.
I believe the reason for leaving Oregon for Miami originally had more to do with wanting to be closer to his kid than not wanting to have an off field position at Oregon. Maybe he isn't happy about the move but there is also a world where he keeps the same pay and has less workload as he only has to concentrate on the recruiting side of things.

I hadn’t heard that about his kid.

I feel like if it was just about that he could’ve taken the same role at Miami when he first got the job unless he was hoping to move the ranks over time and this new position seems like at best a pause on that unless he decided recruiting is truly the only spot where he wants to be.

Either he is truly happy/cool with this and Mario gets 3 CEO bonus points, or he's secretly disappointed with this and Mario gets 5 CEO bonus points.

Bottom line is we just got better at two positions IMO, and as @cway313 said, we went 5-7, everything is in play. As I've stated many times, I didn't think our TE's were incredibly well coached of late. Field is at his best position now.
