Wonder what type [more Gattis hate]

I’m not white knighting for gattis by any means, but we truly don’t have any difference makers at receiver. I’d imagine going full on air raid would put us behind the chains quite often and might be a disaster in its own way.
it's not about air raid or ground & pound - we have more blue chip WRs than almost every school in the ACC - you can get WRs open by alignment or route combinations. "oh well those blue chippers haven't proven that they can make plays" that's why they shouldnt "hold back the playbook" against ****** teams the 1st 2 weeks. these coaches get paid too much money to blame talent on the team when it's their job to put them in positions to succeed.

Think again. Gattis isn’t going to be here long. If we lose Saturday night & it looks like I think it will it’s gonna get real ugly around here.

Bruh... **** is different around UM football in 2022. This is not Amateur Night at Coral Gables anymore (last 20 years). Were a professional organization now. He's not going to be running thru Coordinators like Shannon did. This is the type of offense Mario wants. He wanted a Pro style offense, with some spread concepts sprinkled in. A devastating running game with play action passes off of said running game. It may not be fan friendly at times, but it will be built to his specs. Mario knows what he wants, and the UM brass is going to give him the time and resources he needs to get it done. For me personally, I would like to see more motion and pre snap movement to try and create mismatches. But seriously, he's not running off the 2021 Broyles winner after season 1.... unless there is some MAJOR LEAGUE bed shytting happening later in this season, OR he gets an opportunity to be a head coach somewhere. Other than that, he'll be back at least another year.

You don’t just run a scheme to run a scheme. You tool your scheme around what you have to try to win football games. If you don’t then you are lazy. Simple as that. Hopefully we see more creativity Saturday night.
I didn't say I agree with it necessarily.
I agree with most of what you are saying. I think this offense would be better if we did more RPO and picked up pace a little bit.

Mario is going to have prove that he has altered his philosophy though. Oregon fans said it about him when he had Herbert. They felt he held him back some. It wasn't just scorned Oregon fans saying it because he left. There was some truth in it. Had Herbert played for Lincoln Riley he probably would have throw for 5k and won the heisman.

With that said Mario still won the pac 12, and Rose Bowl, and Herbert was a top 10 draft pick. It's not like Mario hurt his career or anything.

And both of these things can be correct, independently of each other.

I'm hoping a nice moderate completion to a TE to settle in the game. A&M has to be expecting run and the first play (though I wouldn't hate it) going aggressive might bite Gattis in the *** if A&M is bringing heat.

6 yard out to Arroyo would be great. Take some wind out of their sails and stay ahead of the down and distance and build confidence.

And this would tell me the TE is a focal point of the days game plan which I feel they should be especially with X out.

Gattis is just not that great. I will die on this hill, but before last year when he had shea patterson, while not out of this world, he was definitely toolsy, Gattis struggled to get him going on any level for 2 straight years.
Any success he did have was often off script and required an amazing play by either Patterson or a WR.

The complaints similar to Enos will surface again. The spread coast will fall flat again. The classic trope of “He will not scheme open (enter name smith, arroyo and Knighton)” will come back around.

I wasn’t a fan at Penn State, or Michigan.
I’ll be surprised if he makes it out of CIS alive this year.
Just waiting for the nickname to be bestowed upon him.

There are people who are just negative individuals and are always looking for misery.

That’s basically the definition of many posters at CIS. We have yet to play our first P5 game, this coaching regime is less than a few months into its existence, and we already know who we’re firing.

Porsters are getting ready to put heads on a spike, before they’ve even coached a P5 game. What a bunch of negative nancies, and nonsense.

It’s going to take a whole season to fairly evaluate everyone.

Sit the fūck down and relax.

It’s weird that we have to preface comments that provide basic benefit of doubt reasoning for our Broyles award winning, 2 games coached, 100 points scored, last season playoff making offensive coordinator. People are being apologetic for rooting for and being supportive of him.

How can U “white knight” for someone who has had 10 threads criticizing him and some calling for his firing if we lose this game, since last Saturday. How can U “white knight” for someone who has done nothing wrong.

We have some fans who consciously want us to win this game, but are subconsciously preparing themselves for a loss to justify their distrust and disbelief in Gattis the scapegoat.

I don’t disagree. I’m hoping to see more balance 100 percent

Theres people here that are convinced were holding stuff back. I think what we’ve shown is what we’ll see tomorrow night. Hope to God I’m wrong but I’m not counting on it.

We’ve been saying stuff like that since penos was here. “Wait til the playbook opens up”

Bruh
This is why I’ve said we’ll know exactly what we have after aTm and what we see is what we are.

I'm so f*cking tired of this argument about the offense being "vanilla". People say that every single year, and it's just not true. Vanilla is a delicious flavor and one of the best icecreams you can get. Stop talking sh*t about vanilla.
The Barenaked Ladies think it's the finest of the flavors.

I’m not so sure. Systems and teams sometimes take time to develop.

People are so anxious not to be labeled “slurpers“ or “white knights”, that they throw all reason out the window. Then of course there are those that just enjoy seeing everything burn.

I believe we will only know what we have at the end of the season, and not before. Win or lose on Saturday.

@Cribby is correct, we are incredibly thin, with some glaring holes on the offense and defense, that we’re going to have to scheme around. We can win while rebuilding, I’m not saying we can’t, but make no mistake, this is a rebuild job.

To be more specific, I think the playbook we see on offense against aTm is essentially what we have. If it’s the same thing we’ve seen thus far I’m not going to be waiting around game after game for the big moment where Gattis “opens up the playbook”. That’s who he is and what we are. I’m hoping to see more things, and particularly, adjustments customized to exploit aTm’s weaknesses.

I think the playbook is going to be dependent on what Gattis and Cristobal determine would be the best strategy to win games, based on the talent and the ability of what we have on the roster right now.

Those guys want to win worse than we do. So obviously, they’re going to adopt a strategic philosophy that they think will make that more probable. It may not be a philosophy we like, it may be more of a control type offense, but either way, it will be their best guess at what we have and how to use it to win.

You also have to remember that playbooks may expand and become more varied, or contract and become less complex, as coaches understand the team’s strengths and weaknesses.

The bottom line is, the coaches don’t know what they have, just like we don’t know what we have, until we play a worthy opponent. That will be this Saturday.

Of plays will gattis have in his bag of tricks. I hope TVD WILL be utilized in the right way. First play will be what?. Need to show what we are. Short passes to the TE. THIS game is time too shine. Who knows.

I think you missing the part where they want to keep TVD breathing and right now down field passing attempts are littered with blown assignments by the OL. I would not be surprised if those are limited and we stick to more quick hits and screens early on.

I remembered I said you were gonna get the band soon.
Then you posted this gem.

Debt wiped clean, @No_Fly_Zone

Lol, not sure what the debt is, but I deleted the post and booted @JZCane0825 from this thread. He's danger close to a system ban for points, and "OP" can technically refer to either original poster (which I'd consider a personal attack) or original post (which I wouldn't).

Definitely distasteful either way, bit not so blatant that I'd let the system punt a dude the day before TAMU.

Checking in...will straight cop to that last line. Am not a believer yet.

Welp, debt wasn't clean. Don't pass go, don't collect 200 bucks.
But seriously, he's been moping since the coaching search. Just moping for no reason. And a bi-polar mope.
