Why? It's been stated that UWs contract is not enforceable until the house settlement, it's all positioning until then trying to make sure they dont get killed upon a rulings with transfers. Countersuit is from Lucas with proof that Wisconsin willingly and knowingly prevented him from entering the portal because he signed a prospective contract that is a pay for play (while that still isn't legal), and breaking NCAA by laws. Wisconsin is just hoping someone at Miami or the ACC tells the kid sorry you're ineligible for two years now or go back to Wisconsin and be eligible.Could cost us future scollys and probation though right?
On top of it, unless they have recorded phone calls of Miami staff contacting him or a UW email of Lucas receiving a message saying Miami would take you and we have a healthy NIL package for you, they have nothing. The NCAA has already ruled saying if a kid decides to go this route of unenrolling and enrolling elsewhere they aren't breaking any bylaws. UW is just trying to get someone somewhere to help "fix the NCAA" since they can't compete with the new model and the way it's headed.
