Winky Flowers

Unfortunately, I can see Winky going to .................Louisville. This is DEEP year for talent in south Florida and Louisville has done well at getting kids from Dade. Winky could go to Louisville, take some very talented recievers with him, and step right in for Teddy after his redshirt year. JMO..

I've kinda been concerned about it playing out this way, also..

Why is it that we have all these people interviewing Winky, including our own Chico d'brow, and no one asks him whether or not he would be willing to change positions?!? Is it that difficult a question to ask?

Oh yea, and GTFO bomb.

Oh man can we got ONE freaking thread about Winky or Edouard before someone has to turn it into "were going to lose the next Denard Robinson". Not every athletic but raw SoFla QB is going to be Denard Robinson. Most end up at WR or DB, which is why you only hear about a Denard Robinson when they happen. Xavier Lee and Boldin were also great atheletes at QB in HS too and look how that turned out.

A very possible scenario, and unfortunate. But what can we do? Does Golden use up a ship on our second QB just to keep a local kid with a lot of friends here and not going to UL? What happens next year when Jo Jo Bag of Donuts is the "popular" local QB kid? Im not saying we should go one direction or the other here, but there is only so far that Golden can go with this "lets bring this kid in here to keep him from going to XXU"

I'm not liking a 2 qb class of edoard and winky. Very uneasy about eduoard being our main qb recruit. We can do better.

Please elaborate on why u are uneasy about Edouard.

I think in the context of a 2-year haul of Olsen and Winky/Edouard, it's okay.

Winky is not a D1a-Miami QB. Period. He is better suited at WR, imo. So, if you bring him in as one of your QBs in a 2 QB class, you are basically only bringing in one QB.

As for Eduoard, sure, he has some flashes. I'm not blown away by his physical tools. I would describe his arm as lively, can move, etc., but he doesn't pop out of the screen. I would suspect that for a kid with a "high ceiling", you would see much more out of his film. Granted, he hasn't been asked to do a whole lot so his SR year will be interesting to watch.

And let's be real here, outside of Olsen - who has not stepped foot on this campus, we don't have ONE polished underclassman QB. With Edouard, you're talking a guy who is at least a few years from seeing the field. I would be more comfortable with Edouard if we had another young polished gun on campus (it remains to be seen whether or not Crow/Dewey are that type). Call be debbie downer about our QBs, but I am skeptical.

This is also my main concern were the staff to bring in a 2 QB class of Edouard and Flowers, which I see as unlikely. I've been convinced by solid arguments here to look past my pro-style bias and feel good about Edouard's high ceiling, but I'd feel much better with a high floor recruit coming in along with him, like Sean White.

Honestly, just for conversation, if that ended up happening, I really wouldn't be that upset. I still don't see Louisville beating Miami for a Dade kid that Miami wants, all things being equal. (I don't see Lane and Michel going to Louisville.) However, I can see Louisville offering a kid like Micheal Smith early while Miami continues to chase the DT from Brooklyn. That's the type of kid UL could potentially "steal" that we will all be melting down over.

Mike Smith is a DE/OLB hybrid not a DT, so Miami recruiting a DT from Brooklyn has nothing to do with DE/OLB Mike Smith. SMH

Would Winky be willing to come in as an athlete? Not saying he can't be a QB here, just curious about whether or not he would be willing to switch positions to get on the field here.

Maybe it's just me, but IDGAF if we lose the next Demard Robinson.

That kid should have been playing corner or slot from DAY 1. If he had, he'd probably be an early second day pick. I haven't checked any draft boards, but I wouldn't take him that high as an NFL GM. The kid did **** when it mattered. Piled up numbers against mediocre competition and got shut down against any elite defense he played. I don't want a QB who can't get it done with his arm when you take his legs away.

As a passer, I saw more in the first 240 seconds of Edourard's highlight film than I ever saw from Shoelace. Kid is electric and can sling it. Love the take, especially behind Dewey and Olsen.

Mother****ers watch 3 minutes of 5" YouTube clips from their battle chairs and think they're Jimmy Johnson. I get that people will extrapolate their 1% accurate misguided opinions... for conversation. But what cracks me up is how y'all DIG IN!

Oh jesus.

It's a message board. It's a football recruiting message board. If you haven't figured it out by now, your description is precisely its purpose.

Not sure why you didn't comprehend what I wrote, Jesus. Like I said, and I will repeat, I GET the conversation aspect, I GET the message board aspect, I just find it funny when people dig in so hard and refuse to budge like its the end of the world when their opinions are based on such a small amount of data. Its pretty funny.
