Winky Flowers

I think you can take 3. Morris is gone after this year. Williams could transfer as he doesn't have a real future outside of a depth guy. You can keep Dewey and Crow, though I think 1 could transfer. I don't count Thompson at all. So, here's your real depth for 2014 fall:

Dewey-Crow-Olsen + 3. Take Flowers and move him. Keep Edourd and Mahalak or White. Let these guys duke it out. The cream will rise. The rest will transfer. That's okay.

I'm not liking a 2 qb class of edoard and winky. Very uneasy about eduoard being our main qb recruit. We can do better.

I think in the context of a 2-year haul of Olsen and Winky/Edouard, it's okay.

not sure if Mahalek is that guy either. He hasn't started yet in HS has he?

Winky will bring in studs with him.

Flowers has an offer from Miami and will look to play WR for UM if he so chooses to attend hometown team. Or, he can go somewhere else and continue his dream as a QB but at 6'0", he's not going to go too far....

The next quarterback I want from this class is Ricky Town.

I'll take Winky as an athlete. If RLIII can get an offer, then Winky should too.

.

Neither of these guys may ever have to start if Olsen is what he's cracked up to be

Like I wrote earlier, here's what you got as complements:

(1) "steadier" pickup in Olsen. He's most likely to be a starter at the college level and, I think, has that "Steve Walsh" type of feel to him.
(2) "High ceiling" pickup in Edouard. While some are uneasy because he's still raw in some respects, he's the most likely to do something special because he has a very strong arm, good enough foundation, room for physical and mental growth, and offers a different dynamic.
(3) "Most likely to change position" pickup in Flowers. Personally, I don't think he's a future QB. It's not his $ position. He immediately reminded me of someone like Anquan Boldin. It seems we have to recruit him as a QB, though.

I think this is a really good job. We may be able to do "better," but I think this is an extremely well-rounded approach.

I hope we don't lose another Denard Robinson this way. Let's take Winky at QB, and let him compete for the role. Morris will have graduated, Williams will be a Senior, and two of the 2012 QBs will most likely leave of their own accord to start elsewhere. So I don't think too much QB depth will be an issue.

SMH at this ignorant *** statement.

Please elaborate on why u are uneasy about Edouard.

Winky is not a D1a-Miami QB. Period. He is better suited at WR, imo. So, if you bring him in as one of your QBs in a 2 QB class, you are basically only bringing in one QB.

As for Eduoard, sure, he has some flashes. I'm not blown away by his physical tools. I would describe his arm as lively, can move, etc., but he doesn't pop out of the screen. I would suspect that for a kid with a "high ceiling", you would see much more out of his film. Granted, he hasn't been asked to do a whole lot so his SR year will be interesting to watch.

And let's be real here, outside of Olsen - who has not stepped foot on this campus, we don't have ONE polished underclassman QB. With Edouard, you're talking a guy who is at least a few years from seeing the field. I would be more comfortable with Edouard if we had another young polished gun on campus (it remains to be seen whether or not Crow/Dewey are that type). Call be debbie downer about our QBs, but I am skeptical.
