Who is starting at Qb?/Who do you want?

You don't bring in Heaps if you are happy with Olsen. The fact he was brought in, tells me he will be starting unless Williams can get healthy

I wont say he looks his brothers size but he has gained alot of muscle weight maybe he realized they werent gonna put up with his **** and is working his *** off who knows im really hoping he EARNS the job

That added muscle at the QB position should help significantly. Worked well for Morris last year.

If Williams came back by week 1, that's the fastest ACL recovery ever. It makes Adrian Peterson look like a *****. I'm not buying that at all. Sorry. It's Heaps or Olsen.

I'd love to see Olsen go out and win the job outright but I don't know if he's ready. I think the ideal scenario is Heaps starting with Williams as the backup.

Olsen/Kaaya/Rozier battle it out in 2015.

Olsen if he wins would be the best bet now and the future. Most assume that Kaaya will be pushing.

A stationary QB like Williams puts far less stress on his knees than the premier RB in the NFL does. All he needs to be able to do is take his drop and let the ball go. I can see a QB like him coming back very quickly from an ACL.

Rozier should get the nod if he can absorb most of the playbook. Think about it...we need someone back there with some wheels as well as an arm. We need a kid back there who can add another element to our offense when all else breaks down. Can you imaging Rozier rolling to his right and Coley's man leaves him to make a play? Geesh.....how about Duke leaking out of the backfield after attempting a block???

If Heaps is solid then I think we should RS both Kaaya and Rosier. We would then have a heathy Williams by week 3 at the latest from all reports and also Olsen. We don't need to waste any time on him unless we think he's that much better then Olsen or Heaps.

Remember it was a partial tear and not a full tear which is probably why it is going so well.

Exactly. I dont think the coaching staff ever planned to play Olsen, Kaaya, or Rozier this season, Williams injury forced Olsen into the situation. As for Heaps, he wouldnt transfer somewhere to be an insurance policy for his last season of eligibility. For whatever reason he probably feels like he will get every chance to start. I dont think we see Williams very much this season.

saw olsen yesterday with chick and i tell you this old boy kevin has been hitting the weight room

Saw him as well. He looks about his brother's size. Must have put on 20-30 lbs of muscle

As in... the pro football player... ?

As in..what the pro football player looked like in college.

Well you didn't say that did you. How dare me not being able to read your mind.

IMO, you bring in Heaps as soon as Williams went down regardless if you are happy with Olsen or not. If not, and if Williams doesn't make a miraculous comeback (which is unlikely with an ACL) you are looking at 3 QBs: RS FR and 2 true FR.

I have not always been a fan of Golden's roster management (ie: bringing in late signees) but the Heaps move was a no brainer IMO.

Heaps to me would only be there if the younger guys couldn't pull it together to me because there's no building there. Say Heaps does come out just being slightly better than the younger guys in camp that doesn't go well with the process of building this program to reach new levels as many have been drawing comparison of this season to the 2000 season. We want to know who's going to be the future and not be in the same position next season wondering who's going to start now. Yes there's a lot of hype about Allison, well he could red shirt his first year, he's not until 2016 anyways. So if any of the young guys here this year are doing good and his commitment should still stick if they play up to what we've been expecting the starter would be out of here after 3yrs and 2 for Olsen. We are trying to build competition at every position and if you want to play you have to be the best.

The way you build for the future is by winning NOW. Win NOW and you get recruits. Get recruits and you build a better team.

The best chance we have to win NOW is with Heaps, IMO.

Yes you have to win but who says we aren't winning with the younger guys. I just see us in the same situation this time next season with no clear direction in which we're headed because there is a 1yr and out starter at QB. IMO, Both Heaps and Williams should just be quality back ups and compete for #2 if something were to go wrong being injury or poor play from one of the young guns. Williams, opposing teams are ready to test his recovery. I haven't really had a good chance to see Williams play much but during garbage time this past season. To me personally if he couldn't win the job over Morris whom was unable to move the ball consistently down field, going 3 and out majority possessions last season pretty much says enough. Time to look to the future talent that can like I mention show recruits a much clearer direction than a 1yr and out QB/Team Leader. Plus if these Young Guns are as good as their being worked up to be that gives you that Johnny Football, Famous Jameis effect when it come to recruits because they are going to want to play with him.

I used to think that but not anymore. I think he was brought in simply to give then an option. Because they didn't have one after Olsen. It wasn't going to be a battle.

Crow, good guy, is nothing more than a third string guy.

I don't think they are even considering Kaaya being ready.

Rosier is only here for special packages.

That left them Olsen. With Heaps, it gives then peace of mind that they have a solid backup and someone to compete. I really think and hope they will allow for a competition and not predetermine it.
