Where we go from here

I don’t blame coaching for Malik to not be able to hit a slant. I blame coaching for our punting, our discipline (false starts and offsides and Harley and Greg eating crap on punt units)

D, I always enjoy and appreciate your analysis and objectivity but there’s much more wrong than you point out above.
D is not objective. It is his kind of homer outlook on Miami football that gets us thinking we can even challenge the 4th best team in the SEC.

Wasn't Diaz's fault that the punting killed us last night. I hope Richt will give Spicer a shot on Sat. Can't take much more of Feagles.

When you have arguably the least knowledgeable fanbase in college football, stupid takes like "It's Manny Diaz's fault Malik Rosier is pure crap" take root. Joe Burrow was a sub 50% passer for most of the night last night. Outside of one big chunk play, LSU wasn't running downhill. The problem is that Miami's offense was nonexistent for 3 quarters. No team outside of the 85 Bears and the 2000 Ravens can overcome such bad offensive football. Miami needed a COMPETENT QB last night, not even a star. Just sufficient quarterback play to win, and they didn't get it. The D did all they could. This isn't on Diaz by a long shot.

This chit right here, I offense disappears for quarters at a time.. Chit is maddening

Are the backups any good and can they actually replace rosier or are we stuck with this for the rest of the season
Yes they can. Will there be growing pains? YES THERE WILL BE. But tell me growing pains are a problem out of an inexperienced qb learning what's coming at him over versus a qb who sucks. Who knows what to expect yet cant do **** to exploit it & visibly shows he gives 3 ***** if we do or not. He knows hes gonna be a at & t service technician this time next year. How much does he really care...

Problem is we seem to have players who either think or have been told they’re better than what they are in reality/production. Add to the fact we apparently don’t have a tremendous way of getting useful data from greentree, and we’ve got ourselves some **** to worry about.
Somehow, this fan base lost sight of cause and effect around our program 15 years ago. After all the success of the ‘80s, ‘90s and early ‘00s, too many people convinced themselves that something about our logo or greenfield or the water on campus creates nfl players.

It should be clear by now that the players (and going back to Howard, JJ and Dennis, the coaches) we had made us what we are, and not the other way around. Ed Reed, Edge, Portis, Rolle, ST and them guys were going to be great wherever they went to college. Jimmy turned the 1-15 Cowboys into SB champs. If we want the program to ever come ‘back,’ we have to realize that it will only happen when we get the right coach and players. And that really means the right coach, first, because the players flow from the coach’s evals and recruiting.

I share the hope that somehow Richt is good enough (whatever that means) to restore our program, but my eyes and logic can’t support my hopes. You would have to believe it’s the water on campus that creates greatness to believe that we’re headed back there, the way this program is being run. Sad to say, but it is what it is.

Honestly, the only thing that will salvage this season is having a freshman QB start and show he'll be a force next season, and a win at home against FSU for the first time since 2004. Fvck the **** Coastal. We'd just get curb stomped by Clemson, regardless. Need those two things to happen and we'll meet our watered down, adjusted expectations.

This is part of it for sure, especially for Williams. He gets the least reps with good players.

The competition was a farce. You cant have a competition with Rosier throwing against twos while running with the ones. He is throwing against Dean and a freshman with Knowles at Safety? LOL. Anyways, if they trot out Rosier for anymore snaps then I have serious questions with Richt. You have THREE qbs and you cant get any of them ready to over take a 45% qb?! WHAT. THE. ****

I go to practice when I'm in town till I'm blue in the face & I'm telling you he doesnt address that... his mechanics arent breaking down. They are the same as what he comes into the game with & that's unacceptable. Malik shouldve stuck with baseball. Personally I blame all of this on jack Allison's ***** *** father. It's always some hyper sensitive parent that ***** **** up for everyone. Dugans knows if theres ever an issue & its wearing on put a boot in that lil ****** *** & between his old girl & I well deal with it later. Worst part about all of this to me is seeing how sad nephew is after having not only his first college game & significant action but a **** good game at that as well. I've always stressed to him the importance of loving every second of what you do & showing pride in that. It's tough to outwardly show that when on the inside you're so disappointed... I'm proud of the heart these boys showed yesterday. I'm just ****ed cause i feel staff let them down.

Well now if we're going back to Jack Allison's Dad I guess the issue is deeper than anyone thought :youre-nuts:

so Diaz gets a pass because of poor punting.. You're kidding right... Punting definitely hurt but his play calling made it so much worse. If they got ball at the 50 and the defense held, problem almost solved.

I have said that **** for awhile, that whole nflu thing permeates more from the fans, just last week someone was trying to prove how we were better because our players go to pro bowls?! WTF does that have to do with UM success AT UM. Guys have taken soo much pride in the whole nflu thing that if a guy play good in ONE game they are already talking about him making money at NFL level. Maybe he played against a scrub matchup or something favorable. Already seen it with G. Willis. Last week he was huge question mark, now he already in nfl after one game.

Last year everyone on this board was ****ting on JT4. I made joke that anyone willing to sell his stock I would buy it low. Dude is a SUPERSTAR in any competent offense in america and if we couldnt use his talent just fold the program. I am literally driving the JT4 bus but one game doesnt make you a baller. We have potentially great WR core, but people want to make them and send Ahmnon to NFL before they have even done anything yet. Ahmon lost a year and started this year with injury again or something. Let these kids prove themselves before crowning them after 1 game or greentree reports

You are right, I already did have serious questions when he hired his unqualified son to evaluate, recruit, develop most important position then hired like 4 yes men and gave them all OC titles but he wants to call plays while neglecting rest of team

Go with the devil you DON'T know because the devil you do know sucks buttcheeks being the devil in the first place.

Rosier didn’t look like he wanted to be there during the first quarter smh ...
Ran into Rosier’s cousin in Atlanta working at a Target over the summer and my initial thought was Cool, you gonna get him a job after this season is over?

That’s because Manny did his Manny thing once LSU went up by 30. He shut LSU’s “run out the clock” offense down until we closed the gap to two scores.
I agree manny needs to switch some things up but the vast majority of our problems werent in scheme YESTERDAY brother. It was jhavonte dean who I've fought for having zero understanding of either the qbs read or the recievers actual place on the field. How many times did we see her be right there inside shoulder then the reciever would either stop or cut in & dean would simply continue to run straight for no joke atleast another 8yrds before he realized the reciever was no longer on his outside hip. I spent an hr last night cussing mike out over that dude being on the field for so long. Or on these run plays our sam or fs having no clue over gap integrity & not understanding when you see a do attack one gap you pick one over easiest way to look at it. That long run for the td in the first was absolutely pathetic & I saw there players laughing at us over that. Shouldve been no more than a 4yrd pick up but when the dl got caught in the wash than sam & knowles went to the same exact spot on the field that had no part in the play the same gaurd was able to pull and take both out. Atleast knowles couldve actually attacked instead of looking so lost and just saying oh well. The bigger problem from the defenses perspective to me was the fact that our front 7 was just sad. Front 4 other than gerald were a joke. Let's just hope that this mediocre line picked up on an aberration rather than exposed that unit for what we are.
