Where we go from here

A coach can address it in practice until he goes blue in the face, but if a guy isn't mentally there, it doesn't matter. Rosier is a one read QB, and he reverts back to awful mechanics whenever he feels any kind of pressure. Some guys just aren't good. Malik is that guy. He should have been a career backup, but got the job because other people were mouth breathers or decided to leave early for stupid reasons.
I go to practice when I'm in town till I'm blue in the face & I'm telling you he doesnt address that... his mechanics arent breaking down. They are the same as what he comes into the game with & that's unacceptable. Malik shouldve stuck with baseball. Personally I blame all of this on jack Allison's ***** *** father. It's always some hyper sensitive parent that ***** **** up for everyone. Dugans knows if theres ever an issue & its wearing on put a boot in that lil ****** *** & between his old girl & I well deal with it later. Worst part about all of this to me is seeing how sad nephew is after having not only his first college game & significant action but a **** good game at that as well. I've always stressed to him the importance of loving every second of what you do & showing pride in that. It's tough to outwardly show that when on the inside you're so disappointed... I'm proud of the heart these boys showed yesterday. I'm just ****ed cause i feel staff let them down.

Top Post D money. I don't think talent was the main reason we lost. This team was horribly coached. Look at all the dumb f ing penalties. Next thing Richt needs to understand, he aint getn forever to show he can go against Dabo. These 3 big games he played were terrible. He got a pass, but he better get Rosier out of there. Dumb down the playbook, shorten the games and make one of the youngsters go through the pains on the field. I defended Rosier all offseason, i was wrong. Perry is not a true FR, Neither is Weldon. They cant be much worse than Rosier.

A lot of our players don't finish the play they say the right thing their actions don't follow it through.until that changes we will never be or have an elite team ever again.

Couldn't agree more, but congrats to your nephew he had a great 1st game.

How is it that El Foldo was able to have Maimi Qbs look better than Richt. They made Jacory have a decent season then got a true Fr to be ready to play Nebraska on the road. And had decent OL every year. How is that? Richt need to get rid of Searels, Thomas Brown and his son. The offense is a ****. Its fine if he wants to call plays, but get a real OC dammit

Feagles absolutely killed us last night. Our defense is predicated on pressure. When LSU started at **** near the 50 yard line the whole first half they felt zero pressure. And once they scored 2 in a row and were really able to lean on the run we were ***^ed. And the one time feagles did his job we got not 1 but 2 penalties on 4th down. You can't make this stuff up.

^ This. Feagles' first three punts did not just result in good field position for LSU and points for them but ensured that we started at our 25 following each score (kickoffs are pointless with that stupid rule) and by Richt failing to utilize both Homer and Dallas we faced third and long on every series from deep in our own territory.

I don't mean to provide a bailout for Rosier but we all know what he is and until we have a quarterback who can exploit the intermediate passing game we MUST control field position and work both Homer and Dallas to lighten the load. We did neither of those and the staff seemingly failed to address that issue the entire first half.

I have a hard time blaming play calling when I see Brevin and JT4 running wide open and we can’t hit them. That’s a qb issue. Now it’s 100% Richts fault that his son is the coach and they guy they fell in love with (Kosi) isn’t ready
Thank you Christ ... richt stubbornness is ******** over richt the coordinator

Are the backups any good and can they actually replace rosier or are we stuck with this for the rest of the season

Our problem is deeper then that.

We got 2 play caller who want to be the smartest guys in the room. Both think they are capable of putting top rated offense/defenses on the field and it becoming more and more clear with every decent opponent or every .500 team we struggle with that they aren't good. They are average at best. They are both overrating their abilities to call a great offense/defense consistently during a game/season and they refuse to bring anyone in who could challenge their line of thinking. Both will consistently have our offense/defense 40th or worse.

No amount of passion will fix that kind of problem.

The absolute truth!

Well said.

We’re pretty bad. That’s the honest assessment. It’s going to be a death struggle all year because all of our problems are still all of our problems.

We can’t be the sort of team Rick wants to have. It’s pretty obvious that our system is a horrible fit for our QB, RBs and OL any time we face a good team. I’m concerned frankly that the game has passed Rick by. I’m totally certain that if we took the same guys on our roster and handed the offense to a Kendall Briles or a proven guy from that tree we would be infinitely better.

As for D, I’ve never even sold on Diaz and still ain’t. Diaz always looks his best once the other team gets ahead by 30 and tries to run out the clock. There’s no better DC in the country down by 30.

Brother think about this.

On the defensive side of the ball..outside of Diaz, no one has more than 3 years on field cfb coaching experience.

Insanity

That last sentence is so sad and unacceptable in year 3.

After what I’ve seen the past few years, I struggle to put too much stock into QB performance on Greentree.

With that said, Williams is the most gifted passer. He has the most accurate arm and plays with anticipation. His physical tools are top-shelf. Gun to my head, he’s a cut above the rest.

But we don’t know anything until they play real games.

DMoney - I understand Richt is trying to get QB's to systematically dissect a defense - and he's a stickler for our QB's' following the "system." Having said that . . .

Some of the best QB's just have good instincts - of course footwork and throwing form help - but this bull**** system of Richt's seems to just crush and absolutely negate QB's who have good instincts, quick reactions, and a bit of Mississippi Gambler awareness of what's really available with high percentages of success.

I hate to point out the obvious - but those who best follow his system by rote - on Greentree - suck during games.

Would you think a more intuitive, quicker trigger, instinctive, accurate, QB with good anticipation that may know fewer plays, would have more success in real games than his subdued, stifling throw-by-rote system?

Rosier may know more plays - but that has been proven to be a non-factor.

We'd likely do better with a Sandlot approach if we have an accurate QB.

Put the best talent on the field - and forget their experience.

Frederick the Great's horse was with him every moment of five major campaigns. At the end of the day, he was still a dumb horse.

When you have arguably the least knowledgeable fanbase in college football, stupid takes like "It's Manny Diaz's fault Malik Rosier is pure crap" take root. Joe Burrow was a sub 50% passer for most of the night last night. Outside of one big chunk play, LSU wasn't running downhill. The problem is that Miami's offense was nonexistent for 3 quarters. No team outside of the 85 Bears and the 2000 Ravens can overcome such bad offensive football. Miami needed a COMPETENT QB last night, not even a star. Just sufficient quarterback play to win, and they didn't get it. The D did all they could. This isn't on Diaz by a long shot.

Special teams really sh*t the bed last night too. Punting didn't do us any favors. We lost the field position battle miserably.

We appreciate you, Dee. Staff is letting us all down.

I think him knowing more plays is bs. It's not like he's out there seeing the defense at the line and calling audibles. Time for ability over experience

The bigger problem here is why he always overthrows these recievers. That begins & ends with jon richt. Cause it's all in his mechanics & it's not only a game time issue. Anyone who knows football knows he short arms his throws. Doesnt follow through & that 9 out of 10 leads to the ball sailing. How are you a paid staff member & dont address this...

we have a QB coach that actually has our guys practicing stuff like tackling and recovering fumbles a bit too much instead of throwing drills etc

We were pre-season Top 10 and a favorite in this game. It’s not CIS hype.

UM was three point favorites against an average SEC team on a neutral field. If you think the books and sharp bettors have some great respect for Miami, you are sadly mistaken. There was 100% CIS hype by many members here, denying that is literally denying the unequivocal truth.
