What am I missing?

Are these numbers FBS vs FBS? Also consider some numbers inflated when we played second stringers early in the year.
One criticism though is Martinez is a downhill runner who is misused in the shotgun as a runner

Martinez is here to get a yard for 1st downs and goaline so Fletcher doesn't always have to. Thats the value of Martinez. He is a good player, good in the pass game as well.

Running scheme aka lack of diversity still sucks and that's the main issue. I doubt Martinez had to run up the gut into tight splits aka scrums while at OSU.

We spend a lot of downs running into the middle for no gain.

I held out hope for weeks that Martinez would break out, but he simply lacks burst, urgency, and overall just looks uncomfortable running from the shotgun formation.

Why should Martinez not be our 4th running back?
