Well this certainly doesn’t sound great

I don’t think you’ve ever said anything negative about Miami ever, but there’s no way you’re comparing Mario to DeBoer and Kirby right?

DeBoer is 111-14 in his career as a HC.

Smart is 101-18.

Even Ryan Day is 63-9 despite doing more with less.

Mario is 83-73.

There’s no way you’re serious right now 😂😂
What a dumbass missing the point post.

We signed the best DL class in America last cycle. Those kids take time to develop. I'm not saying you don't need to stack classes...you do. But Mario signed an elite OL class in 2023, he signed an elite DL class in 2024, he's looking to sign an elite DB class in 2025. You're not going to get the best collective group at each position each cycle. No one does, and even if someone did, they're Alabama/UGA/Taint and we're not quite on that level. We're in the next tier down.

So, you identify areas of weakness, and you attack.

Your 3 positions you identified, again we signed arguably the best DL class in the country. We signed an ELITE WR class. DB needs to be better, and again he's trying to close there.

Nah

**** i just remembered why i try not to come in here so often........we lose one **** game and now we can't recruit, yet the great players (that we just recruited) are sitting behind older ****tier players, our coaches are the worst, we don't have enough money, Mario isn't that good.

We‘ll see. Can’t say yah or nah yet.

Yes I can; not one elite team in America recruit the way u’re proposing. U stack by over signing. U sign an “elite” OL class in 2023? Who gives a fck; u sign more elite OL in 2024 b/c

1. There’s something called the portal
2. It’s only elite on paper. U know how many guys don’t pan out.

So let’s revisit this elite OL class.
Mauigoa (Hit)
Samson (Could be a portal candidate as he keeps getting passed up)
Tripp (nothing)
Kinsler (nothing)
Tinilau (always been a project, nothing so far)

So this theory of “elite” is imaginary & conjecture. It was 2 5* guys (one has panned out, the other is iffy), & 3, 3* guys, one being a fa sho project. That’s not an elite haul, that’s a good haul, where u project two guys being bookend starters, & hope to develop the other guys into starters. The other guys who made the OL elite (Lee, Cohen) were 1 yr rentals.

In order to breed competition & sustained winning culture, u don’t say:

Year 1, we’ll focus on OL & let everything else fall to the wayside

Year 2, we’ll focus on DL, & let everything else fall to the wayside

Year 3, we’ll focus on DB, & let everything else fall to the wayside

Year 4, we’ll focus on WR, & let everything else fall to the wayside.

Guess what will happen by year 5? U stack chips by over recruiting. Injuries happen, Portal happen, misevaluations happen, etc. U mitigate that by attacking every recruiting class like there’s a need.

I have never, in my 50 yr relationship with the U, as an alum and a fan, seen and heard so much expert advice on what coulda, shoulda be done. Also have never seen and heard so much whining, gnashing of teeth and BooF**king Hooing about a 9-1 Canes team. This here is a head scratching mfer. Just sayin’
Agree. Literally the biggest ******* whiniest fanbase in CFB. Lose one game and the sky is falling. Look at Mario’s pedigree. He is a proven coach. He will meet or exceed expectations this year.

All these recruits and their families talk about the same **** we do. They see the games. They just watched a pathetic game against GT. They know we don't have a QB for next year. They know next year could be bad. They know the ACC sucks. They know Guidry is retarded and Mario is one spot above retarded. Prepare to be disappointed with this year's class. If I'm wrong, I'll eat a pound of crow.

Nba Playoffs Yes GIF by NBA

Don’t really care where it’s ranked but I do know they better figure it out at DT and CB and land something else at DE.

Not a fan of several of our commitments and hope they plan on dropping the 2 Orlando OL because they’re not good.

Antoine was my favorite player in the class and he’s coming off an undisclosed injury (to my knowledge), Wallace is gonna be a while, and you’re gonna lose Merritt and Upshaw and I like both of them.

After what I’ve seen on the field I’m even more concerned at LB because you’re bringing in more of the same.

I feel good about TE and RB. WR is fine. Love SJ and Buchanan. I think Nickel is solid but I’m not sure where his ceiling is at. Pretty low probably. Big fan of Scroggins but he’s a couple years away and that’s all you have at DE. Very very low on Ewald, Fitzgerald, and Simpson. Don’t think they can play here. Again, more of the same at CB with guys that don’t run that well and more of the same at safety with kids that prove on a weekly basis that they can’t tackle, even at the HS level, except for Stubbs.

It would take dropping 5-6 of those guys and flipping several to make me feel good about the class overall regardless of the ranking.

Falling behind the big boys continues. Let’s see what we do in the portal because there’s tons of holes and no fix in sight. Not going to be fixed with true freshman anyway. Need to fill holes with guys that have 2-3 years of eligibility
Doubting Mario & Mirabal OL evals???

How Dare You Greta GIF

100% agree!!

The Sky is not falling.

We'll be the most talented class in the ACC.
We'll be able to attract a stud QB in the portal.

Mario will not let us be at a significant talent disadvantage.
Most talented class in the ACC means squat! Even with drastically better recruiting classes than GT we still can't beat them. This doesn't bode well to win the ACC, let alone make the CFP on a regular basis and compete for a NC. Mario's best trait was recruiting and that seems to be slipping despite a very good year. If things don't change quickly, we are doomed

i didnt expect this many holes on our roster (that were masked by Cam and the offense) 3 years in. its unacceptable especially the DL where the "elite" talent is and its painfully average at best.
The "elite" talent is Bain and the freshmen. If they are still poor next year then we have major problems

fwiw I think Mario has had a good year as an HC. hes done well as a game manager (GT was really his worst day as a coach but he still wasnt the usual mind numbing stuff hes famous for). his coordinators are really ******** him over imo.

All depends on how elite he actually is in the intangibles. Measurables aren’t great.

I think Coleman is the QB of the future in terms of guys we’ve taken from HS. Maybe Emory between next year and 2027 when he’s ready. Obviously portal is an option and I expect that to be the answer
Curious. When you say measurable, what specifically are you referring to with those two QBs? Nickel and Coleman.

I'm still not 100% sure I'm putting the GT loss on Mario.
He's let his hires do their thing, however....

As a true leader you have to take a look at when things aren't going to plan and step in sometimes, and yes step on some toes.

Cam wasn't his normal self, and he's really been teetering in the edge when looking for those deep reads for so long. I felt like he was trying to get the ball put faster against GT but he was so inaccurate at times.

When Mario sees that especially in the 3rd quarter, we have to make a bigger commitment to the run game, and those WR screens were killing us when staying ahead of the chains.

I can say the same thing about the defensive side, but this is where Mario really has to step on toes, he HAS to be in Guidrys ear and challenging him and the entire defensive staff.

Good stuff

Like you’re saying OL is tough to gauge in two years so it makes the class a bit tougher to judge

Our skill players are not panning out and that’s concerning. The class itself was basically barren of guys that can put points on the board other than Fletcher

Fletcher is obviously a solid starter and I’m glad we have him but Joseph and Washington were our highest WRs recruits and they’ve done nothing. CJJ seems like he’s right on the cusp of being someone that can help out consistently but who knows

So the positions where maybe you could argue are the easier to get on the field haven’t been great, but on the plus side the attrition from the class has mostly been from the bottom (though Wayne and Acheampong were disappointing)

The class itself (maybe this is a low bar) looks like these guys belong anyway and are at least headed in the right direction where we won’t have another one of these ridiculous classes where the whole thing transfers out
