welcome to the u thread - Derrick Griffin

If UM took an loi, they have to feel he will or is qualified.
I disagree w Lucane. I don't think they are looking at him as a sign and place. My guess is if he goes to juco or prep, we don't see him again.

Amazing Al pulled off Griffin and Elder post NSD, both without visits. Hurlie especially deserves credit!! Griffin seems to be serious about his grades now and if thats the case he should qualify. That offense is LOADED!

A lot of teams, including Miami, takes LOI for kids, regardless of whether they can qualify or not. It happened with Grooms, and it happened with AJL.

Feels good doesn't it?

RT @CornNation: @SBNationCFB Does this mean Miami has started cheating again already?

Guys, the hate is coming back stronger then ever

Oh my

maybe they are just taking a shot in it working out, but, i'm more willing to think they looked at his transcripts and where he's at and feel they have a decent chance. this is calculated, not a shot in the dark.

Griffin is confident that he will qualify but this is smart becasue at the worst they can send him prep and hope he gets it together not just for the football team but the basktball team too so he has much to lose

Kid is living with his great grand mother and the interview said that at any time there are 16-17 kids living there.
She seems to be the greatest woman in Texas, and this kid seems to have the same kind of motivation guys like Sonny Odogwu have.
Succeed or die.
If I had to bet on a kid working his *** off to succeed, I'd put my money on this kid's great grandmother being on his *** day and night to make it one way or the other.

For teams signing academic risk kids, it makes perfect sense, regardless of the deadline. It puts you in the driver's seat, especially with regards to where they're placed. Golden has strong ties with FUMA, so in the event he doesn't qualify, I'd be willing to bet the kid goes there. Same thing with us and Milford previously.

But again, who knows if this kid will get through.

1. I have no idea how the **** this happened
2. Does this have to do with the basketball team? I heard he wanted to play b-ball
3. My old man is a Texas a&m alumn lulz !

Its a low risk, astronomically high reward and plus we believed in him when iff you look at his offers not many other teams did

not usually this late in the process. something must tell them they can get him here.

This. I'm not counting him in yet but it would just be odd to take him this late. We've had a pretty good qualifying record under Golden so we will see how it plays out.
