I will say this if we can get a few young guys some meaningful snaps in the next few week it should help our back 7

Our front with Bain back did get pressure on Shough just not as much as we needed-

The Ville can score on anybody

Their skill talent is as good as anyone

Their defense is their Achilles heel

We exposed them badly-Their secondary is worse than ours.

yea i dont think we lose to anyone left on the scheddy but its possible, i am enjoying the season regardless and proud of the upward trajectory
 
Man it’s always something with this team, even when they win!!!! We are finally 7-0 with literally the #1 offense and the Heisman front runner. So what happens? Our defense becomes the worst we have probably seen since the 70s. I’m talking worse than Dorito bad.

Washington made the finals last year and their defense was as *** as ours

The beauty of this season is that their isn’t that many top tier teams. Every team has flaws.

IF Miami runs the table and they get a good draw they can win the first game and more.
 
If we can run the ball like we did today, and keep our offense on the field for as long as possible with long drives, we have a punchers chance of winning any game I think. I’m not saying we’ll be favored or expected to win, but I’ve seen crazier happen. Look at Boise st. when they beat Oklahoma or vandy beating Bama…

Still a long season but I’m hoping to see more pressure from the front 4

Louisville OL did a good job most of the game

I’d like to see those guys up front help our the secondary where we don’t need to blitz as much. Its pretty much curtains for our defense when the blitz doesn’t get home instantly

Georgia let that same Alabama team put 41 on them.

Would love to see a more stout defense—and over time trust that Miami will become a better unit—but in the current 2024 college football landscape, scoring points and a high-flying offense is more important than a killer defense and good enough offense.

I think some might have drank to much Kool aid during the season when we were playing bad teams. Before the season started most people said 10 wins minimum 11 wins would be a good season. At this point the offense is a little better then I expected and the defense is a little worse. But ACC championship was the main goal going into this year.

True. But only about 4 teams are truly top tier: Texas, OSU, Oregon, and maybe Georgia. Nobody has a defense keeping a great offense to less than 24 anymore in CFB. But I agree that eventually we will lose because the secondary truly is putrid. All the last few years misses in recruiting are now clear for all to see. I would personally still be ecstatic to win the ACC + get to the playoffs, maybe win 1 game if we land a favorable matchup with some luck.

I like how they sub the whole Dline for a few drives and expect the 2nd unit to improve over the year since it’s a mix of younger guys and vets.

Would love to see that at safety but Guidry loved having his starters play a majority of the snaps at that position.
