The 2 guys we have gotten from AH are:

1.) Guys rumphed only coach 1 season or less
2.) Guys he didnt directly coach. (Herbert,Nesta)
3.) Technically with Herbert he chose michigan over us and got pushed out of their clas. And Nesta is a Cane at heart...the fam are cane fans all the way. Hes a 305 kid all the way.

Just like Macho stated...Rumph isnt looked at as a guy they dont like...but they see others as better coaches or better recruiters at their position..and they KNOW they still will be cool with Rumph. For fUc8ksakes he promoted the announcement of Marco Wilson a kid he/we KNEW wasnt coming here...to a RIVAL SCHOOL IN UF. Have anyone ever seen that?.

Schwartz is/was another one of Rumphs optomist players on the team with Ty Campbell....and obviously close with tyson. He had the lol that started the uproar earlier in the week. It was the truth....But signs were there from earlier to which we (the staff) keeps misreading.

For example: Rattler Cane early in the process advised that Clemson was a possible competitor for Campbell's services.

RED FLAG.

A. S.Fla kid with Clemson high early on ...shows a front runner....Clemson literally may have 2 games on at max a year on down here..likely the acc champ game or a thursday night game....that shows a FRONTRUNNER...so you had to know he would be a kid leaning to the Bama's or whomever was a playoff team. Surtain was a longshot from the get go...and showed respect by visiting us. He never was coming here lol

Heritage is full of front runnin kids. All but Nesta went to the SEC.

The good news is we finally have a few kids from Heritage. I think the only two we've ever gotten. Hopefully we can start a pipeline.

I'm happy with the CB class with the 4 -4* prospects and Bethel. I am worried about him as a recruiter though. One can say he finally got us in the door at Heritage too. Will learn more next year. He needs to develop Dean and Bethel. Hopefully he can coach..... build up his resume.

Not really. I would echo what he said.

They definitely respect him. I just don't think he's a very persuasive person. They like him but maybe don't look at him like someone "they gotta play for!"

You need recruiters that are gonna basically get in a kid's head and make him believe that their school is the only place for them. Rumph is a very chill guy. He seems like he'd be more likely to take no for an answer. Like "it's okay Tyson, do what's best for you."

It don't work like that. It should be "Listen kid, I'm gonna tell you what's best for you! I've been around the block!"

A former player and I tried to get the staff interested in a kid from Virginia who we thought could play LB and/or DE. Film looked good, he was tall and fast. The former player talked to Rumph who was responsible for this area. Could never get any interest or response as far as I know. I was wondering if the guy is like "whatever"....no enthusiasm.

You guys keep bring that up, but he was trashing Dough Boy Golden & his staph full of JAG coaches. We all trashed Fat Al and that joke of a corching cadre. Whole other story now, and if kids can't see that then they probably don't have the test scores to qualify at UM.

Nothing recruits like winning. We need to be consistently better every year to get to the level that Bama and Clemson are at. Once you prove you’re an elite program again on a consistent basis, kids will line up to come here. Good coaches get more out of their kids than they should - that will be the true test.

Yeah, which is why the lack of OV scheduling until VERY late in the process was also a red flag, especially with Surtain. Heck, we were begging these kids to get an OV. That should have been the warning sign.
