We finished 3rd for TC and Pat??

I'm not surprised to be honest.

Surtain, he signed on to play with the champs. I can't fault him for that.

LSU was his dream for probably all of his life. It's tough giving up a dream or seeing it isn't as perfect as you once thought.

Campbell, same thing basically with the champs and the upstart in UGA.

They made a business decision and I imagine even Rumph would acknowledge that if he got real. Bama will always field a good or great defense, UGA should maintain with the talent they have coming in.

Would anyone pick Diaz and company over Bama.

Anyhow, that's how I see it. If either was a childhood favorite of us, I think they would be here. The Miami they know was a dumpster fire for all but the last year and change. Bama is Bama, UGA just played for a ship, and we're playing catchup with the old UGA coach who never made a championship game.

Annoying, but we didn't finish 3rd to the sisters of the poor. It sucks, there is no conciliation prize, but I could justify their decisions on a surface level easily.

Cambpell said in 247 interview we finished 2nd...and Surtain said it was extremely hard to tell Rumph. Obv that means nothing now.

Anyone think it was easy to recruit against Rumph from one point?

Basically they know him as a coach and what he does with their position. Opposing coaches know that and can play the I'll take you to the next level by doing x, y, and z. Basically implying Rumph has already shown what he knows, let me add to it.

If the parties are as close as it's being claimed, Miami's top 10 season and Rumph's solid player development should have been enough to at least beat out Georgia.

Last year there was a 5 star SoCal DB (Darnay Holmes) that was being heavily recruited by Ohio State, USC, and Alabama but picked UCLA (won 4 games that year) because the DB coach was a family friend. That's how those types of recruiting situations usually work out (except Miami) as familiarity, comfort, and trust matter a lot.

OK and there's literally a quote that says Bama and Miami in 247 article.

I'll say this.....things work differently for us than they do for other teams.

Dream school
Former coach
Longtime family friends
Offered first
Most campus visits and game visits
On and on....

None of that **** works in out favor like it does other schools

At the end of the day. We may need to reevaluate how we recruit certain kids. I'm mad as **** but I also look at the class we've gotten so far, I look back at our records and he re we've come from. There's steady improvement but everyone wants it now. We're impatient as fu*k

You’re right, but it’s an article which means the author may have screwed it up. Video trumps print. Not saying you’re wrong, just saying I saw the video; he didn’t mention Miami.

Call Ivins what you want, but he doesn't invent quotes.

No doubt Tyson's talking out of both sides of his mouth, so who knows the truth and who cares, but he gave two different answers to the same question.

think about it...

The 2 guys we have gotten from AH are:

1.) Guys rumphed only coach 1 season or less
2.) Guys he didnt directly coach. (Herbert,Nesta)
3.) Technically with Herbert he chose michigan over us and got pushed out of their clas. And Nesta is a Cane at heart...the fam are cane fans all the way. Hes a 305 kid all the way.

Just like Macho stated...Rumph isnt looked at as a guy they dont like...but they see others as better coaches or better recruiters at their position..and they KNOW they still will be cool with Rumph. For fUc8ksakes he promoted the announcement of Marco Wilson a kid he/we KNEW wasnt coming here...to a RIVAL SCHOOL IN UF. Have anyone ever seen that?.

Well it's obviously an issue with that school.
How do you think they should approach it going forward?

not the school...its him.

Moving forward i would cast a wider net. Dont allow guys that are comparable to head elsewhere..and still recruit the school hard. The current group doesnt know him at all..as their school just recruits other high schools players. There were other guys sort of comparable or a lot more ready t play than Nigel Bethel who we didnt even sniff for holding the door waiting on Campbell, Surtain, Jobe group.

Moving forward...they need to learn the recruiting game and how to read guy sbetter...because honestly were just message board fans and we have a better read on guys than they do. And thats all honesty....i never thought Jobe was coming..called it in the spring. I called UGA for Campbell awhile back..Surtain was ALWAYS a longshot. While that took place...guys like Divaad Wilson were there for the take..(didnt recruit apparently because of random beef with our recruits) Asante Samuel couldve been pursued earlier to develop a relationship...Miguel Edwards...and Stanley Garner.

Its going on 3 years where they dont hit on their big board...they obviously need to change up stuff...cast a wider net. Do they realize BAMA offers EVERYWHERE ELGIBLE 4 STAR DT IN THE COUNTRY...not saying its commitable..but their in the door with ALL of them..We need to be working like that.

The failure to recruit Wilson still makes no sense. The only rationale I ever saw was (from Ariz) he had issues with one of our commits. We may not have landed him, but we should have been involved with the kid and others.

Apparently Wilson and Cam Davis had some sort of beef - With Cam being one of the alphas of the class, Divaad was not an option.

Dumb in my opinion - surely a good player like Wilson makes the whole roster better over some beef, probably over a 16 year old chick.

The sad thing is there are no consequences. They should be cut off from everything Miami, but we'll probably see them at a basketball game when they're back in town.

i tried to give yall the heads up on rumph and the heritage kids when he whiffed the first time. This didnt/doesnt even surprise me.

I was preaching go after Divaad Wilson for a reason.

Seems like the kids don’t respect him at all. Any truth to that?

truth

They respect him....but see him basically just as their hs coach. Did you see how glowingly they spoke of others..guys they literally just met a few times?. Campbell was gloating about Kirby Smart and Mel fKn Tucker.lol

Exactly. To say you picked the school you picked because they could get you to the next level directly implicated that Campbell did not think Rumph can get him to the next level. Surtain just seemed distant the entire time. Not sure why they even strung the coaches along when we could’ve gotten some highly qualified replacements at CB.

Lolnwe got mutha flickers arguing over if we finished second or third!!! Lmfao is this real life??? I’ve hated Rumph ever since Fields bomber his ***
