We finished 3rd for TC and Pat??

They never took us seriously. We were a joke to them. Being recruited by your 10 win, hometown team, by your former coach and lifelong mentor.... 3rd. There's.a gigantic South Florida problem.

Its not a sfla problem its the big time schools do whatever possible to land those types of kids, u think Sean Taylor in this age would choose UM I doubt it very much. Recruiting has changed alot and we are close but not there yet, we have to close one day I dont know if it will be this staff or someone else.

think about it...

The 2 guys we have gotten from AH are:

1.) Guys rumphed only coach 1 season or less
2.) Guys he didnt directly coach. (Herbert,Nesta)
3.) Technically with Herbert he chose michigan over us and got pushed out of their clas. And Nesta is a Cane at heart...the fam are cane fans all the way. Hes a 305 kid all the way.

Just like Macho stated...Rumph isnt looked at as a guy they dont like...but they see others as better coaches or better recruiters at their position..and they KNOW they still will be cool with Rumph. For fUc8ksakes he promoted the announcement of Marco Wilson a kid he/we KNEW wasnt coming here...to a RIVAL SCHOOL IN UF. Have anyone ever seen that?.

Well it's obviously an issue with that school.
How do you think they should approach it going forward?

not the school...its him.

Moving forward i would cast a wider net. Dont allow guys that are comparable to head elsewhere..and still recruit the school hard. The current group doesnt know him at all..as their school just recruits other high schools players. There were other guys sort of comparable or a lot more ready t play than Nigel Bethel who we didnt even sniff for holding the door waiting on Campbell, Surtain, Jobe group.

Moving forward...they need to learn the recruiting game and how to read guy sbetter...because honestly were just message board fans and we have a better read on guys than they do. And thats all honesty....i never thought Jobe was coming..called it in the spring. I called UGA for Campbell awhile back..Surtain was ALWAYS a longshot. While that took place...guys like Divaad Wilson were there for the take..(didnt recruit apparently because of random beef with our recruits) Asante Samuel couldve been pursued earlier to develop a relationship...Miguel Edwards...and Stanley Garner.

Its going on 3 years where they dont hit on their big board...they obviously need to change up stuff...cast a wider net. Do they realize BAMA offers EVERYWHERE ELGIBLE 4 STAR DT IN THE COUNTRY...not saying its commitable..but their in the door with ALL of them..We need to be working like that.
It come down to poor roster management. Offer kids that can play, offer them early, when the elites take their time you can work on them and make space for them if they commit. If they don’t you still got your roster filled out. Lost out on a few kids that could’ve helped us cause the staff keeps waiting on these elite kids giving them too much power over our recruiting.

Bunch of followers

Don’t any of these kids want to compete against and beat the best instead of joining them

i tried to give yall the heads up on rumph and the heritage kids when he whiffed the first time. This didnt/doesnt even surprise me.

I was preaching go after Divaad Wilson for a reason.

Seems like the kids don’t respect him at all. Any truth to that?

truth

They respect him....but see him basically just as their hs coach. Did you see how glowingly they spoke of others..guys they literally just met a few times?. Campbell was gloating about Kirby Smart and Mel fKn Tucker.lol

Mel Tucker is a ******* bum too. ******* weirdo.

Sad but true.
Seeing Bleakvern posting consistently is the CIS equivalent of hearing your proctologist clap his hands halfway through your prostate exam.

i will believe to the day I die that TC wants to be a cane based on his response on television for all to see

Not the whole staff but I think the entire defensive staff needs to go before we can push Clemson, Alabama. Kul can coach but you have to recruit. I'm pretty sure Kul is making the most among the position coaches and he is the biggest liability in recruiting. Truth be told you could get about the same amount of success on the D-line at Miami just playing a 4-3/One gap defense period but we need the talent hang in there with Clemson. Kul is great at helping players develop a pass rush but that has been it really. I don't think our defense was that good against the run because the DL wasn't that good against the run.

Manny defense isn't that great of a recruiter or DC either. Our LB play has decline with him as the LB coach. IMO just playing a 4-3 base defense at Miami is good enough for top 50 defense in the nation no matter the talent. But when you add talent to play that 4-3 at Miami is when you become a dominate defense. Manny success to this point as been solely on Kul great ability to teach pass rushing but if you no longer have Kul Manny's defense will falter. Losing Manny means bandy/patke gone.

Rumph. He gotta go. He a Cane for life but he isn't good enough to coach for the Canes.

So none of these strikeouts falls on the shoulders of the head coach? Or the terrible 3 game losing streak to end the season? That stuff sticks with kids. More so when the program has been down.

Maybe the kids like Mike, they just didn't think highly of CMR.

People on this board may not want to admit it, but not being in the SEC is a limiting factor. Kids have grown up hearing that SEC football is the best and that is where they want to play. 8 of the top 20 ranked classes are SEC schools. 3 of the top 20 are ACC. It is what it is, but we are going to lose SFla kids to these schools every year because of the perceived cache.

A lot of is just the resources SEC schools have anyway. Top notch staffs, facilities and packed stadiums and booster money for bags. Not sure if the most important factors really change if Miami moved to the SEC

Packed stadiums have a lot to do with what teams you are playing. Our stadium is packed when we play marquee teams, but isn't for the UNC, NC State, Wkae Forest, etc. There are marquee SEC games weekly that are on primetime TV. We don't get as much of that.

Some kids just want to leave and see something else.

Last couple years we've had quite a bit of our games covered.
And as we continue to book the lsu's, u-felonf's, and Obama's, we will land more air time,..keep taking care of our business on the field (obviously close the season out better), and we will continue to recruit better.
I think were catching up the the top programs, just obviously not quite there yet.

All these things don’t seem to be effecting the offensive staff. They get whoever they want. I will say not offering Asante and chatfield sooner is ridiculous. Asante is a stud at a position of need that only left (to a rival) bc we offered late. Offer chatfield sooner and who knows what goes down with tyson and ps2

I'm not surprised to be honest.

Surtain, he signed on to play with the champs. I can't fault him for that.

LSU was his dream for probably all of his life. It's tough giving up a dream or seeing it isn't as perfect as you once thought.

Campbell, same thing basically with the champs and the upstart in UGA.

They made a business decision and I imagine even Rumph would acknowledge that if he got real. Bama will always field a good or great defense, UGA should maintain with the talent they have coming in.

Would anyone pick Diaz and company over Bama.

Anyhow, that's how I see it. If either was a childhood favorite of us, I think they would be here. The Miami they know was a dumpster fire for all but the last year and change. Bama is Bama, UGA just played for a ship, and we're playing catchup with the old UGA coach who never made a championship game.

Annoying, but we didn't finish 3rd to the sisters of the poor. It sucks, there is no conciliation prize, but I could justify their decisions on a surface level easily.

Cambpell said in 247 interview we finished 2nd...and Surtain said it was extremely hard to tell Rumph. Obv that means nothing now.

Lol man that's funny those kids knew they were never coming here they played Rumph I don't see this decision as being as hard as they pretend it was rather they be honest and say they never liked UM to begin with.
