Watching this game reminded me of...

Loved the win! Can someone please explain the 2 point conversion try in the 4th quarter? It was meaningless

Give credit where credit is due. FSU has good corners. We struggled to get open. If we go up against another team with corners that good then maybe it’s a problem. Let’s not act like anyone remaining on the schedule can say that. Now come playoff time that’s a different story. Cam probably has to play a little bit better than last night for us to have a shot.
Believe it or not, Miami has went up against a couple of good dbs this year actually already. Jason Marshall, cal db, Va tech dbs, Louisville cb. I think It was just the way fsu schemed on defense to try and play bend but don’t break on our passing game

I’ll admit I was bored during the game due the the lack of downfield passing and splash plays. It’s a measure of how far we’ve come to be “disappointed” at a three touchdown win over our rival. I’m sure I will gain more appreciation of this game on rewatch. Congrats to the team and especially #4 on playing under such difficult circumstances. Go Canes., 8-0 feels pretty good.

I’m not comparing us to Georgia because we’re not, but last night reminded me of a lot of Georgia games. A little slower and more prodding on offense, but the physicality was overwhelming. All those body blows start to show up late and we ultimately pulled away.

Still ****ed we gave up that last TD though.

My only concern is did FSU stop Cam by scheme or personnel? Can Manny just copy FSU's scheme and shut Ward down next week? Like TVD and Georgia Tech? Another thing is I bet the over and lost my ***! But that is my personal loss not a fanbase concern.
Good thing mannys defense can't stop the run

Start betting with your wallet, not your heart.

Yes I agree. But I do think FSU across the board had the best secondary we have seen. When Cam had to get out of the pocket I looked down field and there was really no one open, and those were typically one on one matchups. We could not get our normal separation.

Exactly. Cam has a lot to learn from this game himself. You could see how frustrated he was on the sidelines. Especially in the first half, but for much of the game, he played right into the defense's hands. Trying to extend plays when they are going all out to stop the pass, but finding nothing open so ultimately having to throw it away or take a sack. He had so many opportunities to run when the 1st or second read wasn't there, he could have had a 100 yd rushing game or by running he could have forced the D to change up their scheme, thus opening the passing game.
agreed 100%

As the season goes on Cam needs to master moving the offense with his legs and using timely check-downs, then trying to create or enhance leverage with no-huddle tempo on the next play.

FSU DB room is fast and athletic when they motivated and of course they were motivated last night. So yes, other teams can try this technique, but if you don’t have the speed in the back end., It won’t matter. Plus, we can just run it down the throat all night, long if we have to. But from a speed perspective, FSUDB room is the best will face all year. Better believe cam will be picking everyone else apart.

Fsu didn't do anything crazy vs what we've seen in the past. People harping on the OL, but our backs (specifically fletcher) also did a poor job of pass blocking. Cam was clearly off. Even when open, he was missing high. I do think FSUs DBs are very athletic and played well. Dawson didn't do the best job of scheming guys open. And when he did, we were flagged.

They realized early they were okay controlling the game and running it down their throats
The same line that opened up the running game couldn’t pass block..Cam didn’t have time to meander around and be Cam. I thought we would adjust in the 2nd half and quick pass our way to a couple more TD’s, but we couldn’t do it. Kudos to FSU’s DB’s

Wish We
It was a bit like the Miami Houston game of 2006, except with more scoring by the Canes.
Wish I could say I remember..😂. Vague memory from that one about an impressive young safety who later injured his knee and was never as dynamic. Was he the one swinging the helmet in the FIU fight?

That’s one position Norvell has recruited really well honestly and has for years

Mario the plumber strikes again! 35 runs into the O line Butt hole! I love running the ball but my goodness up the gut every time? Can someone who knows football explain why we have zero versatility in the run game? Also Ajay Allen needs more touches. He can break one.

Random observation that was the friendliest Miami/Fsu game ive ever seen. Did not feel like a heated rivalry game at all. Idk if all the portal kids kind of takes the rivalry aspect out of it?
You thought there was something wrong with the running game last night????
Interesting

This was the most fútbol football game I have seen in a while. Miami managed the game from start to finish. The outcome was never in question. It was just getting to 0:00. If I was an FSU fan, I would be extremely concerned - they didn’t even try.

A lot of you all aren’t going to like what I say but I’ve been consistent in my critique early on. The root is Dawson. Ward is hiding a lot of Dawson’s ineffectiveness as a OC with his Heisman like play. Yesterday was a prime example and a missed opportunity for our TE’s to really be utilized. Forward thinking, some of us have already been talking about finding our next Cam in the portal for next year because Dawson has not developed a starting caliber QB here in the three years he’s been here. Recruiting “toolsy projects” vs legit prospects outside of Luke N. I’m enjoying the moment and the season but on the horizon that biggest issue is OC in my opinion.
This is Dawson’s second season. He hasn't been here three years.

They “shut it down” huh? FSU played a two deep most of the game with less guys in the box than we’ve seen all year, so we ran the ball for almost 250, scoring 3 rushing TDs. As a result, the tempo of the game was slower, meaning less possessions. We scored on 7/8 drives.

We are 8-0 entering November for the second time in twenty years, scoring upper 30’s each week, yet you’re extremely concerned and talking about Kryptonite. Oh Godfather, what can I do?

YOU CAN ACT LIKE A MENG!!!!
Your thoughts on the multiple sacks of Ward?
