I'll believe in the defense when they prove it. Duke and uva both dropped 40 points on us last year. I don't care how improved they are It takes more than one year to become dominant when you were pretty much the worst in the nation

I am not dumb enough to get ahead of myself but using last years defense as a comparison doesn't make sense to me.

Its literally a whole new defense, which is why I am still holding off predictions.

Floridas offense was atrocious. If not for the 5 turnovers/takeaways they would have scored 30.

I'm not saying our defense blows I'm just being Realistic. I hope no team score 20 points on us but I don't think we've played a decent offense yet for a claim like this to be made is all I'm saying.

Im also not saying those teams will beat us, we should win every game but fsu and that will be a toss up. Im just saying you're crazy to think we dont allow a few teams to score more than 20 pts this year

you sound ridiculous..... Florida's offense was attrocious b/c Miami's defense shut them down. "uh uh If not for the 5 turnovers" Miami caused those turnovers not them, smh.

The anti-D'Onofrio guys are just sitting back waiting for us to have a tough game defensively so they can start shredding him again and feel like they were right about him. The egos are too big to just admit they were idiots about him. They've been taking subtle jabs all year claiming that we haven't been tested yet all the while forgetting how atrocious we were last year against almost everyone.

who doesnt know FSU and Clemson has a better offense then Florida's???.... explain to me what does that have to do w/ anything? oh b/c its the next "test" that you have put up in ur mind so you can keep denying Miami.

Guess what, FSU had a better offense then Florida last year, but that defense got in that ***..... you do know that a good DEFENSE will neutralize a good offense right?

Also guess what Clemson had a better offense then FSU last year..... but who won the ACC though? exactly

and you over here sucking off FSU b/c they put 41 on the same garbage *** Pittsburgh team that got 55 put on them by the same garbage *** Duke team that only scored 14 on Georgia Tech.... I guess you are going to now say GT's defense is going to be a big test now since they "shut down" Duke's mighty offense huh?? smh

FSU and Clemson have been under their same Offensive play caller longer then Miami has under James Coley..... but i guess you cant think deep enough to realize that may have been the reason why Miami's offense wasnt "consistent" the first 2 games of the season.

All I was saying was allowing less than 20 pts all season is pretty much impossible nowadays no matter how good your d is. Was our 2002 Defense great? Id say so. Did they give up 45 against VT, 21 against temple, 27 against FSU, 23 against west Virginia, and 21 against pitt? Yes

Even the best defense in the history (01 team) of college football gave up 20 pts 3 times.

Even '11 bama gave up 20 pts although only once. ..and who to? Not ranked arky, uf, auburn, or number 1 ranked LSU (twice), but 21 pts to georgia southern. **** happens. Im not saying we wont roll over these scrubs and that our defense wont be highly ranked, just stating my opinion. Sorry for not being a delusional Homer

c'mon cant have it both ways and for the record i dont care about the idea of this defense giving up 20 points or not in a game, thats not the point, the point is you and so many others on this board constantly acting like pessimistic pussies about everything.

And yes common sense would tell you florida would have scored 30 pts without 5 turnovers/taleaways, not to mention those in the red zone. Did I say this to take away from the defense?no I put takeaways there as well because I didn't want to take credit from our defense. But will we get 5 turnovers every game? I hope so but I don't think that's realistic.

Im not having it both ways, if you read through my argument it is that we will allow over 20 pts to be scored against us and my predictions were fsu, clemson, duke, and uva. I could be wrong but who cares its my opinion. I wasnt posting for your pleasure.

You can make the point mean whatever you want it to. My point is only about the 20 points in a game I'm just saying our defense is not the best ever assembled - therefore will allow at least 20 pts in a game. (For the record I don't think any team in college football can do it either so again..not a knock on miami since I have to clearly spell it out to you)

But whatever way you have to spin it to not look like an over reacting douchebag on a message board is fine by me, carry on
 
The only reason why we probably won't hold all teams to under 20 is because our offense can't control the ball. If the offense ever manages to learn how to eat clock the defensive stats will be even more impressive.

Nobody has dropped 40 on THIS defense.
In case you haven't noticed.
This is not the same defense as last year.
 
I just know that Oregon is the only team in this country that has the "ability" to beat Miami by double digits.... all that other bs about Duke's great offense or FSU and Clemson i give no ***** about.

There isnt a team on Miami's schedule that I feel like miami fans should "worry" about or have to pass "the test" against lol gtfoh w/ that weak ****.

The only test that matters is winning and losing.... so all that other **** like crying about how bad the defense was last year or now the cool thing is to throw Stephen Morris under the bus even though he does have a victory over Florida, yall just make sure yall keep doing that as the season goes on.
