Even if he survives, this is still a black eye for Urbs. He may still hold on to Battle this year, but parents with morals that really give a **** about their kids are at least going to have a sliver of doubt when deciding whether to send their sons there moving forward. And on a positive note, the Gameday signs are going to be epic if they pick a game involving OSU this season.

I am shocked he is going to survive this. So many people have lost their career for less. It is so disgusting that college football is so dirty.

It is my favorite sport but the corruption makes it harder to follow. 10-12 schools ruin the entire sport for me. For me to love a sport it needs to be a fair playing field regardless if there are inate advantages. Fine if OSU has an advantage because of the size and wealth of their alumni base but keep it legal and even. If Meyer was at Arizona he would be gone without a farce investigation.

Fired or not, things will get very messy in Columbus. There will be protests on the campus all season long no matter what.

And I’m hoping it will be so ugly and embarrassing that Battle decides to avoid the chaos and come on home to the U.

Just think about the game day posters, signs and chants at road games. &hit, wish I was still in college because I’ve got some wonderful ideas for the rival fans.

Given the wrestling investigation they are currently experiencing, given the $500 million Nassar settlement via Michigan State for similar crimes, and given the current #meetoo movement with giants tumbling left and right. Sorry but football coaches are not worth the risk. Football coaches may cover up stuff to help win games, but universities doing so actively is an entirely different situation.

I agree they want to keep ***, their issue is that they probably cant. They are weighing the cost of firing him vs. the cost of future lawsuits over not firing him.

If he turned over the information as he said he did back in 2015, then do they have just cause? What exactly did Urban do besides retain and sleeve all coach and lie to the media? Just trying to look at both sides because I want him fired, but I think he will only be suspended a few games.

There are very specific reporting requirements when it comes to Title 9 issues. And I think one is that the report must be made in writing. And every allegation must be reported. If he failed to abide by all the Title 9 stringent requirements then they could make a strong case to fire him for cause.

I don’t know all the language in his contract, but they could have some morality clauses in there that they could allege he violated. Contracts can be very open to interpretation, which is why these matters are often settled.

In a world where parents send their black kids to blatantly racist schools in Alabama and Mississippi for money today or the hope of money tomorrow, I find it hard to believe there will be much moral outrage amongst parents over this. SFLA kids who were considering osu will still do so as long as urban is there.
