Urban/(J. Battle) news

Several espn sports commentators lambasting OSU and especially Urban Meyer. I love it and Urban has that ole syndrome CRS!

It's just another black eye. Sure, it's a secondary violation and will likely result in another slap on the wrist. But yeah, it adds onto the public perception already about OSU and Meyer.

I can't find the tweet but I saw a great response to this strip club info from a guy who said he was a judge: it said something to the effect of who doesn't think these guys were accompanied by a recruit or two.....

somebody that I trust very much and is a booster for a pretty prominent School told me that he does not believe the Ohio State stuff is over yet and they could go as far to affect Tom Herman at Texas

and no I don't consider these sources this is just a very good friend of mine who's always pretty spot-on with things including tipping me off to the Shapiro stuff before it even got out and Urban story before it broke

I’d love to hear the rationale for still going there.
THese dopey Broward groupies and their families are a weird breed. They’ll gladly send their kids to Methtown to play for a proven lying shyster scumbag whose word is meaningless and who harbored a wife beater for 10 years and hired two coordinators whose pasts arenso deplorable that the school had to pass them over as interim HC despite both being seasoned and relatively successful HCs for a 30 year old kid with zero experience.

Meanwhile, 5 minutes down the road is a HC who is beyond reproach and a program that has proven it can be the best in the country with the help of local players.

So true. I get so tired of people making claims of high moral status, yet when faced with action they do the opposite. Money rules the day!

If UM plays OSU in the playoffs it's going to be Christ vs. Lucifer

Mannnn. I shouldn't have but I viewed this one completely wrong. I was of the mindset that they were either gonna can his *** or completely exonerate him as a slap on the wrist suspension would play the worst p-r wise.

My mistake was underestimating the type of clowns that can exist in or be called to power positions at football factory universities (or sometimes just academia in general). These weasels obviously had no intention of ever firing Ol' Urbie but also exist in a bubble where they actually think a 3 gamer sit-out covers their asses too.

The best part? The "punishment" now essentially makes the TCU game not count if the lose it. Hilarious.
They pretty much did completely exonerate him. He’s sitting out one meaningless scrimmage.

They spent most of that dumb report talking about Smith going to a strip club, which is completely legal activity, in order to distract the dopey public from the paragraph or two they spent on the important issues like: 1. Urb not telling Gene Smith about the 2009 incident when Gene Smith called him in to talk about the 2015 incident; 2. Urb consulting with a staffer on a way to delete texts more than a year old and then deleting those texts; 3. Urb lying about meeting with Courtney Smith in his office and lying about Courtney telling him during that meeting that she made up the abuse story; 4. Urb and his ***** wife lying about discussing the texts from Courtney to said ***** wife.

This is what most often happens when an organization investigates itself. They find a way to engineer the findings toward the result they want to achieve—holding onto a very successful HC who beats Michigan.

The sleazy woman who was reading from the bogus report actually said Urb didn’t intentionally lie to reporters on Big 10 media days despite him flat out lying. Can you unintentionally lie? Is that even possible?

Even Zach Smith admitted Courtney was not at the meeting with Urb, despite Urb saying she was there to tell him nothing happened. And then Urb's asking about deleting his text messages, which later disappear from his phone. But the investigators come out saying they don't believe he deliberately lied. Ok.

so starting with Brett Mc Murphy this morning on WQAM and continuing throughout the day in both print and televised media, it sure seems like most of the sports news commentators believe that Urban Meyer will not be at OSU for very much longer. Some have said one more year - others said possibly a bit longer. I think this sentiment will pick up steam as the weekend goes on, no matter what the pro Urban faction counters with. It will be interesting to see if this possibility affects any of the kids already committed to OSU and those going forward.

Well, he just apologized....so that’ll add about 3 more yrs on his coaching life at OSU.

So....in the joke of a report that osu put out it seems to say that Smith committed an NCAA violation.
Wonder when the NCAA will start that investigation?

It definitely isn't the end. They left so many crumbs behind for amatuer and professional reporters who have the time (like McMurphy) to follow up on. Deleted text messages, etc.

I admit, I'm really surprised they held on to him. I thought for sure he was finished, not only bc of the current climate, but bc keeping him opens you up to all kinds of legal liabilities. If he lied to you once, and the media, and covered such a thing up, who knows what else is under the rug waiting to be uncovered, and given Urban's history...

What do you see as the legal liabilities that have been opened up?

No comment from Battle in there, but only 1 negative reaction. Says a lot about these kids and their parents.

If kids and their parents can look the other way and send their kids to a place that once allowed small boys to get raped in the showers within a year or so after the news broke then letting them go play for a guy that let a murderer play for him even after the world knew he killed some other kid is par for the course.

Money talks and anyone that thinks that a large bag has not only been dropped at this Kids house and another one will drop along with possible housing and job opportunities after he signs that LOI is fooling themselves.

NO PARENT looks the other way with such a no shts given attitude unless there’s incentives involved.
