For the millionth time, the employment contract has to be approved by the BOT. The President can recommend, but he does not have the unlimited power.
I couldn't figure that out through all the subterfuge. What a lame **** job the president of this university has.

This is why I don’t think Manny gets fired. I think they’re literally waiting to see how he performs during the bowl game.
Lol.
They need to see how he performs?
I can tell you how he will perform. We’ve already seen it.
His team will be Unprepared, unmotivated, uninspired, and undisciplined.

This a guy who is 0-2 in bowl games. With a shutout loss against Louisiana Tech. The only worse thing than a Manny coached team coming off a by week, is a Manny coached team going into a bowl game. He is incapable of getting a team ready after a layoff.

I just can’t believe he’s going to be the coach next year. It’s insane.
He’s a ****** coach and has been given plenty of opportunities to prove otherwise. What else is there to see? Another 5th place in the crappy ACC.

I’m done with this program if he comes back, and I’ve been a die hard since 91. I’m sick of watching this crap football, against crap competition. I’ll spend more time out on the water on my boat with the family, than watch this crap any longer on Saturday’s.

While we are clarifying how many votes are needed to signoff. What percentage of the votes.

No problem, and I'm not "mad" at you or any other poster. I'm just frustrated with the sportswriters and "experts" that continue to put out incorrect information, which then confuses good posters who are making an honest effort, like you.

I don't know, I think the "checks and balances" are good WHEN EXECUTED IN GOOD FAITH. But that is not what is happening currently.

I would also say...when a President is strong, effective, respected, and well-liked, the fact that the BOT has to approve certain actions is...really not that much of a problem.

But when you have a President who needs that same BOT to give him a new 5-year contract...well, then things can get dicey.

Simple majority of those who vote. But I have also been told that BOT votes rarely involve all 80-plus members. While we might like to assume that a vote of this importance will inspire every Trustee to participate, the nasty nature of the proceedings over the past few weeks might also push some Trustees to abstain from such a divisive vote.

Great. Thanks for the info.

It’s going to be him, so we’re all just going to have to come to terms with the hire.

I don’t love it, but I’ll support him until he gives me a reason not to — it’s only fair.
Who knows, maybe he isn't a puppet and is an alpha. Gotta let him work if he's the guy.
