*Update Eddie Nunez Emerges as Strong Candidate for Miami AD Job

It doesn’t matter who we hire, if they don’t actually invest in football nothing will change. I’m still skeptical of this extra money they say they are going to pour into the program. Idk if Nunez will be good but if he never went to New Mexico and came straight from LSU we would be losing our mind. I’d also be willing to bet it’s probably pretty easy to fund raise at LSU.

How did their team records improve? What big hires did he make?
Bro he went to a school with a football program that Rocky Long, one of the best HCs in CFB, could only get over .500 3 times and he was there for a Decade. Same with Dennis Franchione. The job is so bad that it took forever to get somebody to interview and the guy who took it was an Alum. It’s literally the 2nd worst job in CFB.

Stop acting like it’s Toledo or Kent State where people would be interested in taking those jobs. It’s not. FIU is literally considered a better job and they’re broke.

They had their budgets cut due to Title IX violations before he got there
Not only that but two of the last major decisions the old AD made was to extend Bob Davie in 2016 and hire a new basketball coach a couple of months before Nunez got the job. Couple that with budget cuts and Nunez doesn't have the money to fire bad coaches and hire good ones quickly for those sports.

In what world does Mack Rhoades leave his situation at Baylor while being on of the highest paid ADs in the country?

The post I replied too said we couldn’t name another AD. And so I did. Never said Mack was coming or should he. Just said he’d be perfect. But in what world is reading easy?

Rado worked at LSU prior to becoming AD at tech. Nunez and Rado must have worked together while there. If that is any consolation prize.

It was pretty widely known but basically was completely exposed when Lebatard tried to engage him on Latin culture during an interview and it went over like a brick. Manny's mom is a gringa from Ohio. This is all pretty irrelevant but I always just found it at least a little surprising that a prominent Miami politician of Cuban lineage would have a kid that isn't at least comfortable conversing in Spanish.

I'm ****** and even I speak more Spanish than Manny

If you were just naming a coach, you leave off "he'd be the perfect hire" implying we should pursue him.
