I have an issue w psUstill 6th in ap as well
really no gripes from me, ppl can ask why UGA is above but after how we've played the last two weeks I think we're fine where we're at until we prove otherwise.
UGA has texas next week so that'll sort itself out.
really USC blowing the 2 td lead and letting penn state come back is what stopped us from being top 5 today

The gap between us and Bama widened. We were barely ahead of them last week — so that’s good to see.still 6th in ap as well

No , me lol. Rookie move that I never do.By "dumb****", I assume you mean Riley.
This is true.Just win and prove it on the field. That is why that play the game. The Canes have a better chance of reaching 12-0 than any other team, and will likely be 13-0 after the ACC championship. If the Canes achieve that, they will be ranked somewhere between 1-3, with an authomatic bye for the first round of the CFP Playoff. Unlike a lot of teams on this list, the Canes actually determine their own destiny, and the road to the CFP is very doable because the Canes are favored in every game from this point forward. The Canes just need to clean up the turnovers on offense, and the missed tackles and assignments on defense. Otherwise, they are championship-caliber team. You can’t ask for anything more.
Tennessee dropped 1 after beating Florida and got passed by Clemson who beat Wake Forest.
Poor SEC. Victim of ACC bias
Seriously, it seems some people are actually watching the games.
At least Alabama didn't jump us, which I kinda expected, given how it usually works.
our defense is incredibly mediocre. we need them to figure it out in conference play. it just hasn't been a good defense in conf playI think UM would beat Clemson (again) if we played them but the fact is we got into ACC play in both of our games and we flirted with disaster, largely because the defense is letting teams run up the score in the first half. On the other hand, Clemson took care of business (they didn’t look impressive against FSU but they still won by a fair margin). VT/ Cal are both better than FSU/Wake so we aren’t exactly comparing apples to apples, but I can’t fault voters for being skeptical of UM. I still don’t know how good we are, Louisville will be the best measuring stick as UM , SMU, and Clemson play (or played) them. We are coming off a bye and should be nearly at full strength. If we struggle again , and Clemson dominates UL when they play in a couple weeks, that will tell me what I need to know about which two teams are the best in the ACC.
Will not happen. If Texas beats Georgia, and we beat Louisville, and both games are close, not far fetched to think a 2 L UGA stays ahead of us. At least in the coaches poll, somehow I have more faith in the goofy AP.

Case in point is last night during the Tennessee Florida game. The announcer sucking off the SEC with the PS narrative that oh it’s so tough. Leaving out that we smashed Florida week one. Using that metric were the top level SEC team it should be ranked probably in the top three in the country. This is true.
But it’s also true that the fix is in before the season even starts. They use the “SEC gauntlet” to justify losses and close calls by the contenders while pumping up the losers of those games, resulting in a self-fulfilling circle jerk.
Teams like us have to be perfect, and even if we are, they still push us down as far as humanly possible—justified by the same type of close calls or losses. That leaves little room for error on the road to a championship, while the SEC types get 1, 2, or even 3 mulligans on account of their tough schedules.
It’s all the eye test, mind you. Because when you start to look at SOS and similar metrics, the argument often doesn’t hold water.
What if Miami had lost to Vandy? Where would we be ranked?
Part of me doesn’t care because F the system and it’s us against the world. But we want to get in the playoff and hold up the trophy at some point. The way things are, it’s objectively more difficult for us because of “perception” or “eye test” or whatever other BS made up metric they’ll continue to use to justify keeping us out if at all possible.
For f’s sake, the narrative now is the refs are on our side. The refs! Protecting Miami?! Does anything else really need to be said?
Oh don’t worry I popped the champagne for Ohio st making me free money after the first drive. And this is why you don’t post **** until the game is over . Way to go dumb ***
