Up to #11 in AP, up to #10 in the Coaches poll

In the olden days -maybe 1 or 2 years ago even- we would be ranked ahead of the 1 loses. This scenario would have enraged the fanbase and been a story on ESPN. Things are different now. No longer matters.

Side note: We won't play a single ranked team until ACCCG. That's so sad. What a topsy-turvy world.

It's crazy considering Syracuse, Pitt, Clemson, SMU and Duke have one loss or fewer.

If Texas beats Georgia, and we beat Louisville, and both games are close, not far fetched to think a 2 L UGA stays ahead of us. At least in the coaches poll, somehow I have more faith in the goofy AP.

wont be long before these idiots start putting clemson ahead of us

I am pleasantly surprised that LSU is behind us, I suspected they might jump us due to bias

totally expected ohio state to still be above which is fine - them and Oregon will sort that out later

texas and UGA play next week - probably in our best interest for UGA to catch a 2nd loss there as to not have to battle UGA for an at large later on if need be

If you're a coach and your team isnā€™t P2, ranking Ohio State/Georgia ahead of Miami/BYU/ISU is shooting yourself in the foot. Youā€™re giving P2 teams a free pass for losing, just because they all joined the same conference to chase dollars.

Miamiā€™s undefeated, Ohio State isnā€™tā€”simple as that. Itā€™s not our fault P2 teams chose to ruin football by being in the same conference, and they SHOULD NOT get rewarded with mulligans for losing to each other.

They already get the money, now they want free passes for losing too?? When did WINNING GAMES stop mattering and ā€˜strength of scheduleā€™ take over? That only benefits P2 teams and means no team outside the P2 can EVER be ahead of them because youā€™ll never have their strength of schedule. You can only win the games on your schedule.

You would think these coaches would understand that, but it seems they don't. I know they hate Miami but it could be any team outside the P2, it could happen to them. So not only do these P2 teams get more money, which helps them get better players. Not only do they ruin college football by destroying regionality and rivalries. But now they get free bonus points and mulligans when they lose to each other too??

Any Big 12, ACC, or G5 coach that voted for these 1 loss teams ahead of Miami deserves to stay outside the P2 just for being dumb and playing checkers when the P2 and ESPN are playing chess. Just dumb.

The whole strength of schedule thing is BS. You see it every week, "good" teams lose to "bad" teams. Winning is hard, and that's what the number 1 metric should be.

Yes.

USC took Penn State to overtime and dominated a lot of that game. Yet NOBODY is treating them the same as Miami beating Cal... and we traveled further and our game lasted until 2:30 AM.

It's a double standard. Alabama barely scrapes by Missisippipi State and it's "oh great toughness, great come from behind victory." Georgia comes from behind and loses to Alabama and it's "oh they showed a lot of heart."


Miami comes from behind and wins and "you guys don't deserve it, you're really 4-2"


It's prejudice and bias and nothing else. A total double standard. If anything it proves Miami is back. It's ALWAYS been us against the world, it's good to know that 30 years later the irrational hate for Miami hasn't dimmed at all.
