I don't and I hope we can get someone that can teach more than 1 passrushing move. I will also like to add he is an awful recruiter. We need someone that can recruit DTs in Louisiana, Georgia, or the 757. He didn't even get Valentine, Hurlie did.

Personally I think Jethro and Kehoe are the 2 weekest links..wish McDonald and Richardson stuck around. This guys flat out could coach.
 
I wasn't a big fan of Jethro, but Golden could've easily left him behind at Temple when he came to Miami and didn't.

He obviously trusts him to teach the kids proper pass rush technique.

Bottom line is pass rushing is a skill just like QB anticipation, RB vision, WR sideline awareness, etc... It's no surprise McCord and AQM are already the best pass rushers. They possess the necessary skills.

Chickillo's problem isn't technique. He doesn't doesn't have burst, and he's not a brute who can overpower o-linemen.

At least Kehoe can recruit. He is getting 5* Prince, Jaden Gault(high 4*), Chad Mavety 5* JUCO, some other JUCO, and Frank Ragnow to visit.
 
Its too late to let him go because he has build great relationships with out 7-8 DL recruits. We really need to bring in a great DL class and loosing him could hurt our chances.
 
When it comes to pass rush it has to be on the players...As a d-line coach you can teach your guys how to dip and rip, speed rush, bull rush, spin, and swipe all day but if the players don't know when to use the moves it won't help them. McCord for example every team knows he's going to do one thing and thats speed rush, if he can't get there he will engage the lineman and hold him. A spin move or swipe inside for McCord would cause some problems for offensive tackles. I will say Muhammad maybe the only one that uses a variety of moves but he's not on the field long enough to set up any offensive tackles. Outside of McCord and Muhammed you look at guys like Chick and Green, these guys are not what you would call pass rushers. They have no explosion off the ball, therefore, the o-lineman end up getting set in pass pro before they even get our there stance. Nothing after that for them to do but engaged and watch the qb. It could be coaching but it's evident the d-line lacks explosion off the ball and a sense of awareness when it comes to when to use pass rush moves.

**** No. Dude hasn't landed 1 good dt in 3 years. He let bryant young come and snatch bostwick. We are struggling to get good dt as bad as we need them. Can't coach or recruit same **** when he was at usc.

not hating on chick but just wondering , if what you say is true, what skills does he possess because he was a pretty highly touted recruit

In terms of build, I think he optimized his size/speed ratio in high school. He should probably be playing at 250 lbs, 255 max. He doesn't really fit the scheme, but he's a trooper. He's an effort guy, and he sets the edge well. I think he'll find a place in the league as a run stuffer.

Imo, Chick is better suited as a penetrating DT. He doesn't really have the explosion and strength to be a prototypical DE in what the staff is asking of him. However, I think in a penetrating front he would be productive there (freshman year).

Smart, high motor player. Good technique against the run, setting the edge. Just not a very explosive or athletic player. Doesn't offer much in terms of pass rush moves. Needs to continue to get bigger and stronger so he can be a 3-4 DE and maybe even grow into a DT in Pierre/Robinson's spot. If he makes it in the NFL, it won't be as a 4-3 DE, and that's not where I'd like to see him as a Senior here either.

Dude seriously needs to get his weak *** a packing. Our DL can't even out do OL that have a total of 10 starts combined for the most part. Dudes seem to lose moves the more time they spend with him.

Seems Jefros best move to pass onto his lineman. Is to be stood up by one dude.

Did you chicks Sr HL ... Kid had burst and the hands needed. He is magically a waste now. Was better as a Frosh.

I personally think out bull**** S&C program is a glaring problem. We beef up well but also become very stiff.

I want whoever Golden wants on staff. By all accounts the guy (Golden) breathes Canes football to the point of obsession. He IS NOT going to allow some slap ****, ineffective coach to continue to drag down this program. If Golden trusts him, then I sure as **** do.
 
Surprised no one mentioned this boards favorite d-line coach, Kevin Patrick.
 
look at how he developed players at temple. He has done best he can with the talent he has. AQM development will show us his skills
