UF vs Miami series thread

Ok. What's your plan for a solution?

Not sure if this is serious, but coaches are let go all the time. There's a way to escort Jim Morris out of the building with dignity. Then conduct a national search and hire a coach who has won and who is passionate about getting to Omaha and winning the whole thing.

FYI - this was also my solution in 2011, but we went with the "HE HAS WON TWO WORLD SERIES" plan, and look where we are five years later.

EDITED TO ADD: Gino DiMare is the lazy answer. We can't pull a Randy Shannon and reward a guy just for putting in time. DiMare is part of the reason why our recruiting list comes straight from south Florida travel ball rosters.

Got it. Fire Morris.

I tried to fire him several times with mid game rants. He just doesn't listen to me. He still shows up at the park in uniform. Does anyone know someone in accounting to fix the glitch?

Morris is the Coach. DiMare is HC in waiting.

Other than ranting and raving on here every game, what is your plan to solve this at the fan level. Everyone is ready to follow a strong plan to correct Miami baseball.

But first things first......It is my understanding that NCAA College Baseball 2016 can end today and we are the only ones that can stop it. The Gators are one win away from winning the whole **** thing and the season is over. No more games. No Omaha. For anyone. The NCAA, the City of Omaha, TD Ameritrade, everyone is relying on the Canes to save the season. What can we do?

What a lame, strawman post. There is nothing we can do at the fan level. But as an alum and a donor, I can certainly expect my athletic administration to have the best interests of the program at heart. And I can certainly call them out when they make lazy decisions.

But you're right. We should all go have a milkshake and cheer for our boys and pat everyone on the back after another loss. Just as long as everyone has a good time.

I had to step away to check on the State of Emergency in Nebraska. #saveomaha

Same classic argument.... Nowhere did I say we should be happy. But unlike some of you I'll be damned if I am going to let the coaching decision ruin every baseball game the team plays. Instead I'll donate accordingly, catch as many games as I can, rooting for the Canes and critiquing the coaching, play and administration accordingly... hoping to discuss it reasonably with other baseball fans.

Still waiting for your viable alternative for change because obviously the plan you hatched in 2011 hasn't worked yet.

In the meantime, I believe the Mayor of Omaha is making substantial progress in convincing the powers that be to return to the traditional format of letting the full season be played before crowning a champion.

Morris is apparently here through next year. But how about rethinking the idea of handing the reigns to the son of a BOT member who has no head coaching experience and will be impossible to fire due to his connections?

As you're watching the series this weekend, it's important to remember Florida is the best in the country. We have maybe three players who would start for them- including pitchers.

I still want to beat the **** out of them, but hopefully understanding no matter what happens in this series we can still accomplish the goals of the CWS, ACC without winning the series.

A win makes it all the more likely- of course.

And whose fault is it that Miami has no business beating Florida? In case you missed the past 40 years, we used to be pretty good. Now we're going into the Florida series expecting to lose and just hoping to do well in the ACC.

A classic message board fallacy by injecting things that aren't there into your argument. We aren't talking about the past 40 years- we are talking about this year. And this year, Florida is simply better.

We did go to the CWS last year, so I can't throw quite as much shade onto the manager as you are, but Florida definitely has a better coach than we do.

This is the problem with the baseball fanbase. You refuse to accept that this has happened since 2009. You can say "it's just one year" for eight straight years. For you, it's just this year. For some us, it's closing in on a decade.

We went to the CWS because we had the easiest path to Omaha in the Super Regional era, and that is indisputable. Once we arrived in Omaha and played a team with a pulse we were embarrassed.

You're taking your frustrations over the past several years and juxtaposing them onto a poster who is simply saying I'm not upset about it because they are awesome and we are not. To think this team is the #6 team in the country is hilarious.

For God's sake Florida is going to pitch the #1 pick in the draft on Saturday against us and we are throwing a junkballer hitting 83 on Friday night. The team's aren't comparable.

What you're saying is something different than what I'm saying. What you're upset about is the fact that Florida is so much better than we are and you want that to not be the case. I am not refusing to accept anything, I just think the way you're posting about it is irrational. "Florida is beating us in 2016, but I'm so mad because they have been beating us for years." What I'm saying is of course they are beating us this year, they are much better. I'm not saying that's ok, and there's a big difference.

It is a reasonable concern. May work out positively, but has bad idea written all over it. Very bad.

Oh, that's cute. You superfans are the best. Do me a favor.....bring this post back up when the folks in Omaha actually get around to crowning a champion while we are nowhere near the conversation.

I love how you believe that there is not and has not been a viable alternative for change. Like we were destined to sit back and let Jim Morris coach as long as he wants. Of course, it doesn't bother you as long as you get a Jayro and a picture with the Maniac and the boys try real hard. That's what real fans do. The rest of us just mope around expecting our teams to compete for championships.

So I'm irrational for pointing out that we have been looking up at Florida for eight years now? Good grief. And the new excuse is "they're just better than us." Yeah, sport, that's kind of the whole point.

So instead of having runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs, DiMare gets a guy thrown out at the plate.

That's our next head coach.

Heyward thrown out trying to steal 3rd...single on the next play, Heyward would have scored.

Still 5-1, top 8

EDIT:
5-2, top 8 w/ 1 out and runner on 3rd
