UF Injuries Thread

Getting hurt and injured are two different things.

I would never want to see another player get any kind of injury but especially a significant injury. I know how much time is put into rehab and how frustrating it can be having to come back from it. That's just me.

I think a lot of us have had that experience. Personally it was a year of physical rehab on the knee and about 2 years to psychologically recover. Didn't think I could ever jump again without being worried.

My animus is strictly confined to 4 schools: Florida, FSU, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
I hate the programs, and the players are part of the program. I will never cheer for them and conversely will always cheer against them.
My reasons should start and stop with me saying I'm a Hurricane.
Of course I wish doom, gloom and the wrath of God upon them. What part of the word "enemy" is ambiguous?

I was hoping he'd win the Heisman this year and catch the game-winning TD pass against us. I'm classier than you guys because I don't care that he was a rat against UM, and I actually wanted him to beat UM. All I care about is the happiness of these **** kids. That's how goddam classy I am. **** shame that such a great guy from such a great school went down. I'm inconsolable right now.

I translate all that and I still have the same guttural reaction to misfortune for our enemies: FUUCK THEM!

Fvck Dumbose, fvck ufag, and fvck any Canes fan who gives a **** about either.

I want them full strength and here's why. If we beat up a Gator team missing their top players, it won't be just Gator fans pointing that out, we'll also have the media and voters in the polls pointing that out as well. You beat a full strength Gator team, and we'll make a nice big leap into the top-25 rather than a modest jump from possibly unranked to just making it into the top 25.

I hate certain schools more than others just like everybody else. I hate the teams and to some extent the players but don't wish injury upon them. Not saying I always feel bad but injuries are the worst especially for individuals where football is the only thing they have.

The only player that are scheduled to miss the game is Debose & the MLB. The QB, RB, and 2 OL's are suppose to be back for the game, so there will be no excuses when we kick their asses. They just might be a little rusty from missing a lot of fall camp.

Great banter! I believe at our core, we don't want guys hurt from any opposing team. However, you can tell by all these posts that passions run deep against Florida. They are truly the evil empire to Canes fans. For me personally, I stay away from anyone I know that is a Gator fan. It's just best that week for me as it brings out the worst in me.

I guess it's what happens when you're dealing with the Devil!

So, when you are watching the Miami/Florida game and Denzel is getting ready to pulverize Driskell and you scream out, "kill that ************!" What are you wishing for then?

This...

It's the same to me as a fan as it was as a player, I want to hurt the opponent, but not injure them. There are kinds of "hurt" that can knock someone out of a single game, but they don't have long-term effects on their victim.

This happens to every team and it brings them together more (ie. Malc Lewis). Sucks for the kid but we are all lying if deep down we aren't cracking a small smile.

Yup. I throw in Oklahoma, just because.

Oklahoma was the gift that just kept on giving.
Jimmy used to bend over with his hands on his knees the whole game. Not because he was focused but because he had a 4 quarter hard on.

Amen..you tell'em Don ChiseCisco!!!!!

On defense players try to hit people as hard as humanly possible and when they knock someone out of the game it makes most players happy. I fell into this category as a player and the feeling when you blow someone up and the crowd goes oooooohhhhhh and he's out is good or at least it was for me. Even on offense backs and big TEs and lineman are out for blood if they get a chance. Most times the kid gets up and he's fine it's how the game was played since it was invented. As far as practice injuries....

This is a huge season for us and this gator game is the linchpin to what could be the turning point for this program. So under these circumstances I'm pleased by the Gators lack of health. If we knock any players out in the game I will cheer for them as they leave the field but, I will be proud of our boys for layin that wood.

f*ck a gator. i don't care if we play the backups' backups because a win is a win against uf. at the end of the day, a win over what should be a top-10 team in the polls (whether they actually deserve to be there or not) goes in the record books as that. we don't have an asterisk next to the oklahoma win in 2009 when bradford got hurt the week before. the record book has a nice w over the #8 team in the country. who cares what their fans say? who cares what the media says? no one is expecting a national title run out of this team so the polls really don't matter. what we have is a realistic conference championship contender, and that's the next step for the program. f*ck uf. f*ck them up their stupid f*cking *sses.

That's how I played too. But I wouldn't take out knees, crack-back people, or go strictly for the head, would you? Man, I would feel so good as a player to knock an opponent out of the game, but there are minor ways to get knocked out of the game and then there are ACL's, dislocations, etc. I never hoped for that serious stuff to happen nor would I have enjoyed it.
