I met him at a major event in children’s hospital and I believe he is. I tried to keep him away from athletes and make sure he and other media members did not bother them. Nice guy but very corky.

Probably the latter. If he plays well, nobody will care. If he stinks, he'll get ripped more.

I'm more worried about other players trying to squeeze us after this became so public.

Reality is without a cap based system in place, any “top player” can demand and ultimately make the team worse off as we will have less funds to keep other talented players happy and attract new talent every year to last 3-5 years. And if we are successful, how does the collective or NIL get a return on their money to retool? The athletic dept will make any additional revenues from a successful season but those cannot be funneled back to the NIL (collective or individual). Like @Cribby said, train meets wall eventually on this eventually. Already way out of control with little to no rules around transferring.
