He wasn't a mediocre QB until Cristobal decided to scrap the offense that TVD excelled in, and hire Gattis for caveman football. Now that Cristobal has finally evolved from Homo Habilis to Homo Sapien and moved to a spread offense, it's a tacit acknowledgment that he was wrong to change the offense in the first place (otherwise, Cristobal would stuck to his guns and hired another caveman-football OC). TVD got burned last season. Then this offseason he finally got the OC, but for some unknown reason, WRs didn't want to transfer to UM (and I have a sneaking suspicion as to why, but my mope meter is full so I'll keep that to myself) Anywho, TVD went into spring practice, and to the shock of no one, discovered that the WRs are just as bad as they were last year. So I get wanting to transfer. I don't like it, but I get it. Cristobal kinda brought this on himself. Now he's got to earn his 8 million per year and find a way to get TVD to buy what he's selling. Of course Cristobal could also try to get an elite QB to transfer to UM to play for him

So last year, we had an OC that didn't fit the culture. With this charade, will our QB (assuming he stays) kill the 2023 team's culture?

Probably the latter. If he plays well, nobody will care. If he stinks, he'll get ripped more.

I'm more worried about other players trying to squeeze us after this became so public.

I would hope we would tell anyone else that tried it to kick rocks

TVD (really rosenhaus) knew they had us by the balls.

4 months before the season starts, after a 5-7 year, when Garcia transferred, we missed on rashada, and jacurri brown looks like hot garbage in the spring game. Played leverage expertly.

Would hope we somehow land some qb's to make this not a revolving situation

This happened before, I assume you are aware of that story.. It was hilarious who wanted to be paid more..

I understand from a fan perspective the latter is a concern but do you think so with players? Back when I had friends on the team, they knew who was getting what and how. Like the players knew this ish was going on since December and likely know about any re-worked deals. This also could be an outlier in that it is Bama. 1. how many teams can compete with a bama bag and 2. how many of our players is bama trying to realistically poach? My guess this is an exception not the rule. There were also rumors of worthy and flowers getting extra NIL love when they were portal contemplating, I doubt that made such a huge wave where other players were holding out so to speak.
