This was so irresponsible for it come out. They probably should limit who has access to the team daily.

@Rellyrell made a great point. Wong’s negotiations came in the aftermath of an Elite 8 run. First in the history of this program. As we all know, he then followed that up by taking us to the Final Four and earning ACC Player of the Year.

TVD ain’t done ****. We loved him when he talked trash to NC State his freshman year and backed it up, but other than that… he beat up on some trash teams. Then stunk up the joint last season…you can blame a lot of it on Gattis, but he also held the ball way too long and missed plenty of open guys.

Time to put up or face the music.

Agree with this. Putting it out there made it much bigger than what it was. All for a little clout but hurting the program in the process.

I thought it got much further than it did but now that the smoke is settling even someone on Bama’s side basically said it was just informal and inquiry and wasn’t even entertained by Tyler. His agent did his due diligence and it was over.

Something that’s happened with a few guys on our roster and didn’t leak. Others have progressed much further with other schools than TVD.

Mario and the Athletic Dept need to continue to weed out the rats and the outlets the rats go to put it out there.
People need to realize this sort of thing isn't only happening to Tyler. Or even other guys on our roster. This is literally happening everywhere in college football right now. It's usually not leaked to the media though. Nobody thought it was odd that we've signed portal guys immediately after they entered the portal? These deals are being hammered out while the players are still enrolled at their previous schools.

Yep. This was one of the first cases I learned about in law school. McDonald's was purposely brewing the coffee exceptionally hot because they believed it led to better flavor. They had also had prior complaints of customers burning themselves, so they were on notice of the issue. The woman had 3rd degree burns throughout her crotch area. She had to have reconstructive surgery of her labia. And like you said, the original jury verdict was lowered significantly.

The misconceptions about this case were used by insurance companies and bought-off politicians in many States to justify passing caps on compensation for personal injury victims. What people don't understand is there is already a check on unreasonable jury awards. It's called the trial courts and, if necessary, the appellate courts. Jury awards are frequently lowered by the judiciary.

That last paragraph cannot be emphasized enough. Like many things in life, the "average American" only remembers the first headline, the "rest of the story" is usually ignored.

So I’ve been busy and admittedly don’t know all of the twists and turns that went down here but isn’t it true that Bama reached out to TVD, he listened, he renegotiated with Miami, and he is staying? If that’s accurate it’s hard to blame him.
The blame is on the source of the info. How do we know? Someone ran their mouth and someone in Miami media put it out there. These are the people who deserve our venom. IMO.
Right? Be frustrated with the current rules for NIL/transferring (something that for all of their faults, in this case the NCAA does not have the ability to reign in), but I am sure the vast majority of the people on this board would be willing to listen to another company if they were contacted and offered a raise and/or a 'better' position. And if they turned around and got a raise out of it while staying where they are, good for them. It would likely and understandably be annoying to their current employer, but that is the cost of doing business.

D$ confirmed in another post that most of his teammates likely see this as a 'good for him' situation as opposed to him being a turncoat or whatever, but fans get emotional...

The Hard Rock boos are gonna be glorious.
I see no positive to it, prob means he is doing bad which means we are doing bad and currently don't have a replacement. Love it or hate it, as it stands now doubt we make a bowl game without him.

They ran QB power with King quite a bit. Then they would hit for big passing gains with the fake QB power and just drop the ball over everyone's head to a wide open running back.
That’s the only play I remember being power. Don’t remember ever running power with a handoff

They still ran plenty of power. Remember that King lead the team in rushing attempts in 2020.

i dont htink mario got a pass as the year went on and the coaching staff issues were obvious. i think earlier on he had a pass, but any coach gets a pass in their first year. i think the biggest issues at least for me were rookie mistakes from a veteran coach. didnt expect that (Staff building, roster evaluations, portal, etc.), but he corrected the staff issues so well see how staff 2 looks like in the fall. i like guidry so far though. idk what to expect from dawson and will admit that our WR talent isnt special so it may be tough to get a good read on him
The facts are what they are:

- He hired a toxic 15M/year staff
- the '22 team lost games it should not have lost
- he's trying to rebuild
- other programs, like Duke '22, have shown 1st year competency with a shaky roster is not some insurmountable obstacle
-he recruited well his first year
- he's turned over the majority of the roster

I'd like for his tenure to be successful, of course, but not because he's Cuban. It's not like he's tossing tostones into the stands. If it meant some more fun memories, I'd take an effective Martian leading the charge.

Nope but you can take away from the outlet that leaked it to send a message and it’ll stop happening if they want access for content

If yahoo or some major outlet got the info and leaked it.. you can’t stop it. But these are the ones that talk to players and recruits every day and watch practice every day. Can’t have that happening that close.
thats true.

ROTFLMFAO at "French Socialist knives. Hated working under Culinary School French Chefs, but it pains me to say they're insanely talented in the field. MFers to work under, but their technical skills are unparalleled.

Wait, I thought that Wusthof knives were German? Henckels too.

Wong wins games in a tough division.
TVD loses games to ****** ACC football teams and is more stoic than Buster Keaton.
this is actually false. He technically has loss 4 games in acc play. Unc twice, uva 2021, fsu 2021. And should have won 3 of those 4 games

idc about where hes from. just win games and you hit the nail on the head w the facts.

the one year turn arounds TCU and Duke had after YEARS of bad seasons consecutively didnt help marios cause at all. we were flat out poorly coached last year. he was out coached. plenty of time to turn it around

Wong lead the team to the first Elite 8 and Miami brought in some dudes with publicized NIL.

TVD mis-“lead” the team to a 5-7 season, looked afraid against So Miss, got benched against MTSU and leveraged our destroyed QB room…

Wong looked around and said WTF man.
TVD looked around and said **** you man.

TVD is on the clock….AGAIN

This is the only forum I have of any sport. Maybe we have different people we know? Everyone I know gives him a pass. The first thing that usually comes up was how could he win with those guys? Well why doesn’t that apply to Tyler lol
We should have won games we lost. In many ways, Tyler is a victim of what was setup last year. Tyler is imperfect and I dislike the way this went down publicly, but, even as a Cuban, I don't personally know a lot of Cubans giving Mario a pass at all, much less because of his culture and background. You should hear how hard people are on him down here (I presume you're in TX).
