Miami has played the portal game very well… but that game gives and takes away. And using back channels to see whether a kid is interested may be suspect to some folks on here but I’m almost certain we’ve done it several times to land some transfers. That’s the game now.

I must be part of different types of forums and chats. And, lots of us are Cuban. He gets judged by his results relative to his enormous salary and resources. So far, well, you know. On this topic, I don't think your narrative is based on any kind of evidence. Even casual fans are skeptical of 'a 5-7 first year.'
 
Wong made same NIL/transfer noise last year and made up for it with a ACC POY award and the U's first ever Final Four appearance.

TVD, your formally broke *** is on the clock! No more 3 INTs in 5 passes against the likes of the MTSUs of the world. Got it?

Right - like any new coach, there were always some people opposed from the beginning but I don't recall (going back to Coker) people who were onboard with the new coach souring so quickly. Now I think most aren't at the point where they have totally given up on him, but he is definitely not getting a pass.

i dont htink mario got a pass as the year went on and the coaching staff issues were obvious. i think earlier on he had a pass, but any coach gets a pass in their first year. i think the biggest issues at least for me were rookie mistakes from a veteran coach. didnt expect that (Staff building, roster evaluations, portal, etc.), but he corrected the staff issues so well see how staff 2 looks like in the fall. i like guidry so far though. idk what to expect from dawson and will admit that our WR talent isnt special so it may be tough to get a good read on him

Agree with this. Putting it out there made it much bigger than what it was. All for a little clout but hurting the program in the process.

I thought it got much further than it did but now that the smoke is settling even someone on Bama’s side basically said it was just informal and inquiry and wasn’t even entertained by Tyler. His agent did his due diligence and it was over.

Something that’s happened with a few guys on our roster and didn’t leak. Others have progressed much further with other schools than TVD.

Mario and the Athletic Dept need to continue to weed out the rats and the outlets the rats go to put it out there.

Nope but you can take away from the outlet that leaked it to send a message and it’ll stop happening if they want access for content

If yahoo or some major outlet got the info and leaked it.. you can’t stop it. But these are the ones that talk to players and recruits every day and watch practice every day. Can’t have that happening that close.

This is the only forum I have of any sport. Maybe we have different people we know? Everyone I know gives him a pass. The first thing that usually comes up was how could he win with those guys? Well why doesn’t that apply to Tyler lol
