True or untrue: Virginia Tech is in better shape than Miami as a program

I think of it as... would you rather be in their shoes or do you think they'd rather be in our shoes?

To me, I think a majority of their fans would rather be in our position then us in their position. So I'm going with da U is in the better position. Does it mean we are going to win on Saturday... well, I'm not anywhere near 100% sold on that even though we should run them outta the building!

GO CANES!
Josh

Pointless conversation. All garbage ends up in the same place, they don't rate it on a 1-10 scale.

OK, more interesting topic: Which of these is better?

Fuente will be fired mid-season. They don't win more than 2 acc game this year. Should have lost to Furman

This might happen, sure. But all that would mean is they would be a step closer to a possible return to relevance. I'm sorry to say that with the way things are trending for Miami, we'll continue living in 7-5 purgatory for the foreseeable future. Just my opinion of course.

No, I don't at all. Bud Foster has been VT's entire identity for over two decades now and is retiring after this season and appears to have already checked out mentally (which I figured would be the case). The Hokie faithful have no clue what their identity will even be moving forward. Fuente has been an unmitigated failure up to this point and very possibly will not survive the season or offseason. They have a massively fractured lockerroom and a culture right now that has been described by current players as "not fun to be there". A significant amount of their players are actively seeking an escape hatch. Their offense is in shambles; they have no QB; their recruiting classes which were never even that good in the first place are falling apart; and even attendance at Lane is way down in a town where there is nothing else to do on a Saturday. And they just got whipped by a bad duke team by 30+ at home. One of my best buds who is as big of a Hokie fan as we are Canes fans txtd me on Saturday with:

"Had to turn it off. it's hard to imagine we are this bad...we look like high school players out there."

and this morning with:

"just taking the under... we are a huge dumpster fire. I cant see us winning a game for the rest of the season TBO"

No, it's not even discussion-worthy, Rok.

virginia tech players are finally realizing how ****** blacksburg now that the new coach grace period is long over. that town suuuuuuuucks.

These are fair points. My rebuttal:

-While it's just year one under Diaz, this has the feel of the same old thing and the fans weren't going to be fooled this time.
-Recruiting rankings don't matter as much when you're dysfunctional from top to bottom, as both programs currently are.
-Miami's transfers haven't quite paid dividends to this point.

kj has been solid. hill has been alright. if bolden is even halfway competent in tackling and taking good angles, then he'll be an immediate success.

Then why waste your time on Canes board? You cleary don’t like the canes. They sucks there is a negative spin on everything. Do yourself a favor and spent your non-refundable minutes on something will actually bring you joy.

We won 10 games two years ago. Nobody has any idea how Diaz will perform as a head coach after 4 games.

VT could be headed for some dark times. They're not a school with a lot to offer that is being held back by a bad coach, they're a school who was only good because of their coach. If UVA stays on the come up, they might just push vt down to a bottom tier acc school

Thank God your opinion has never been right

This is a huge game for both programs. Both coaches can regain control of a sinking ship and win back some support. But losing this game is a back-breaker. Just this morning we had a poster claim that a loss on Saturday would be the end for him. And this is someone who says he's attended games since the 70s!

The most annoying aspect of this thread (setting aside the sheer cvckery of it all) is that it's painfully obvious based on your responses that you are advancing the position that UM is in as bad or worse a place, as a program, as VT right now. But rather than stick your chest out and make a straight-forward thread, your OP title poses a question. You've intentionally set this up, in true troll fashion, to entice actual Canes fans to respond with a pro-Canes answer, while you lie in wait to provide your little rebuttals.

Don't get me wrong, it's solid trolling, Rok, but it's also transparent and dishonest. I just wish I could say I expected better...

They are both equally bad and have similar coaches thing is VT is in a longer tenure with Fuente so he has his unathletic athletes already in the system. Year three or four under Manny u will see unathletic Miami teams for the first time in ages, in spots we will have guys but it will be epic bad. I would say VT is worse right now but we aren’t trailing that far we are two years behind them.
