Travis Johnson decommits

6'4", 230 in HS = too small??

he ain't 230 mane

He's listed that weight on more than one site, and he's not done growing in HS, he looks like he's never been in a weight room, dude will be plenty big.

oh well **** he's listed at 230 it must be true

Did you weigh him? Slow your roll man, just saying he's 230+ on multiple sites, weights not an issue, he's plenty big for a HS TE.

Kerr is a valuable piece to this class, IMO. This team lacks legitimate blockers at the TE position, and this is an offense that needs 4-5 guys in the TE rotation. We're essentially going into next season with Walford and Dye. Walford the pass catcher, Dye the blocker. The other guys on the roster aren't good or won't be here (only White at the moment is gone). Kerr would essentially be our second best blocking TE the minute he steps on campus. Plus, he can catch a little better than many project. And, ****, he could move over and develop into an offensive tackle.

Don't disagree with any of that. And I do like the versatility, and have stated from the beginning I think he has a higher ceiling at OT. But we just took Knighton, we are looking at Sonny, we are taking Sandlandand Dobard at TE. This is a class of MAYBE 18 guys. I just don't see how we have a spot for Kerr.

Good post Larry. Swear people forget about the blocking aspect of the TE position which is very important. That's why I think its crazy when people bring up Dye as a guy who might be asked to move on.

Will be interesting to see what happens with TE position (Cleveland and Perry specifically) once Signing Day passes.

Timing for announcement is strange, I would of figured if staff and Johnson came to this agreement they would of waited till after Sandland announced, unless he all ready notified them.

I am going to go ahead and say it. This class right now is in deep **** if we dont starting landing kids like crazy.

We better get Sandland

Thought Larry's earlier post was spot on. I hate to see this kid go elsewhere because he does have great hands and would probably create mis-matches, but as Larry said, in a small class I understand. Good luck to him.

You'll be right if we don't get signed LOIs from the top front seven players we are recruiting.

The worst part of this is Travis wanted to be Cane. He was loyal throughout the process also. I feel for the kid. Recruiting works both ways. We get mad when a kid decommits and now when a kid gets pushed away its no big deal. It's a shame.

Only liked him because he reminds me of Rollin

RIP, GOAT
