Tracy Howard: We have to have coach D's back

I agree with Cane4Life. Dorito has only been here for three years. It takes at least a decade to get your players to understand what to do on the field. Cut the guy some ****ing slack, you negative ********.

Nah you right brah. Howard clearly being brainwashed or blackmailed in some way. Wouldnt surprise me if Golden and Shalala were threatening to expel him, or take a sledge hammer to his ACL if he didnt stand up for Dorito. And I mean its HOWARD, this is Dorito's boy, they have gotten along like Peas and Cornbread since Howard has been here.

NO WAY is this issue more complicated that we are making it out to be. Its just we have the most mentally retarded human being to ever coach Defense on our staff.

All this tells me is that we have 1 of 2 problems.

Either:

The coaches haven't properly taught the players what to do in certain situations or the players are choosing to ignore the coaching.

This is Dorito's third year coordinating and most of players 2nd or 3rd season in this system. If they don't understand it by now there's a ******* problem.

Definitely agree. If Howard didn't like the defense, there's no reason for him not to publicly trash his coach. Nothing negative would come from that, and it would be a good outlet for him to voice his frustrations.

Just like it takes other coaches time to implement their system, we simply have to wait it out. We're only in year 3. By year 10, the defensive players will have some idea of what to do in the 9th game of the season. Until then, the decade long learning process continues. Stay positive, guys.

We're only near the 100's in every major defensive statistical category since we began conference play. With a little hard work, and 7 more years, we could crack the 70s.

Its called acoountability, its called a changing culture, its called a kid that knows that the better days are ahead and coming, its called stay the course and understand what has to be done to continually improve this program, and firing coaches is not gonna do it. Its called they know and you dont, hes our next highly drafted DB, whci would be the first since 2007

C'mon. What else can he possibly say? Even the hint of blaming his defensive coordinator would be disastrous for himself and the team. I think it's very short-sighted to attribute anything to a player's answers to the media

I think the way he said it would lead most to believe it aint lip service, but whatever makes u happy

I just dont think we have speed on defense, we have players who are terrible in space, and the worst ones play in the biggest spaces; we are dreadful at outside backer and safety

We have those type of players on this team, coach D aint playing them

I wish someone would just call out all the **** ups on this team defensively... Put them on blast and maybe they wake up and open the playbook.

I just want to know who's to blame and why they're still playing because we see the same mistakes over and over again.

What else is a player going to say? Especially a player who has been brainwashed by one of the more propaganda-driven coaching staffs we've ever had.

None of this makes me happy. It is incredibly disappointing.

The only silver lining i could come up with after Saturday, was that the coaches would accept full responsibility, drop this hybrid 3-4 / 4-3, which apparently is so confusing our players are letting players run loose, and simplify to a more attack-oriented 4-3.

but the coaches are blaming the players, which does not inspire confidence. this is the first week I can remember in Golden's tenure, where I have concerns about the program's direction. While that may be overstating things a little, there is no way to ignore the schematic problems we displayed against VT.

I agree with you. That's what I said.

Unless you're fielding 5 stars at every position, you have to just take your lumps meandering around in the 100s of almost every statistical category. Michigan St is proof of that.

There's an entire article on Golden telling everyone to put the blame on him... What more do you want?

Al Golden isn't gonna sit there and say "our guys are doing a great job executing the gameplan" after giving up 600000 yards to a ****** offense. I guarantee that wouldn't sit right with the fans either.

The coaches have already said nothing is going to change. Just keep moving forward or some BS.
