TOS Reporting Position Changes for Freshmen

Not surprised about Jake. We've heard of Fisch's interest in him at TE. No problem with this move

but Briscoe...smh

I have heard some good stuff about Hoilett, and McCord and Hamilton are getting some burn. Maybe this helps with recruits who are concerned with how many guys there are at their spot? I dont know. Briscoe is a surprise, for the amount of eval this staff puts in, its hard to think they missed too badly on any recruits. But you just never know how a kid is gonna change when there is no one around telling them what to do.

So, two true freshmen who weren't going to play are going to work on the other side of the ball for 6 weeks and the sky is falling?

D line By far our worst position and the biggest reason our defense is doing terrible. There's not many recruits coming in this year and another two switch to offense.

Not good news my man. You think Briscoe is really just moving to offense for 6 weeks? What's the point who won't play anyway. They may need some bodies at offensive line for practice reasons but that wouldn't be worth taking away some development for him at D line.

This.

You fans who blindly follow all things our staff does without questioning them like everything is sunshine and flowers need to wise up.

If this was one of your young WRs moving to the secondary I wouldn't complain. But DL has been our worst unit all season and for Golden to move two of HIS DL recruits to offense after less than a year is puzzling.

Surprisingly I disagree. I agree about the "not following everything the staff does" part of course but not the rest

First off the recruiting part the other guy said is total bull****.

Also its not like we didn't bring in a bunch of bodies for the DL. We are bringing in a bunch more this year too. Numbers isn't the problem. O'Donnell was talked about as a TE when we were recruiting him so that's nothing that should surprise.

Briscoe though, that's odd. I don't remember ever reading or hearing anything like that but with guys like Moore and Ivery playing and JuCo help likely (also a guy like Bryant looks ready) I am OK with just sitting back and seeing how the roster shakes out before I get all up in arms about it.

If Briscoe was even remotely competent he's be on the DL. This tells me they missed on him. Even Butch had kids that he flat out missed on. It happens.

There's no way they switch a guy from D line at this point to tight end, especially with us bringing in some talent at TE this year, unless O'Donnell just looked like a JAG at DE early.

If O'Donnell looked to have a promising future at end and is moved to tight end thats pretty dumb move, so I don't believe thats the case.

We knew when we took O'Donnell there was a chance he would be a TE. So I am not surprised with his move. Briscoe I thought would be a player but after seeing him during camp, I could tell he need hit the weight room before he saw the field. Lets let it play out. Clements was moved to DB and then back to RB so who knows. Same with Cornelius flipping from LB to S and then back to LB.

2 things I want to add.

1. Let's not act like position changes are set in stone

2. Failure to make changes are exactly where the last staff dropped the ******* ball. In a huge class like that there's going to be switches. A smart coach does it early enough to benefit.

And its not like our coaches don't know about our DL problems.

OK 3 things.

Very well written.

Briscoe was very disappointing at DL in fall practice. He just didn't seem to show any signs of having "it", despite needing a redshirt year badly to get in the weight room.

We have a million DT. Our OL depth chart is gonna be atrocious in a year or two. And our OL recruiting has been really bad. Moving Briscoe makes 100% sense.

Moving ODonnell to TE??? Now that's retarded, unless we are gonna run a 4 TE offense or we see some MAJOR MAJOR attrition here with JAGs like Cleveland, White, Perry, etc. We're projected to carry NINE TEs next year, at least as of this moment....WTF??

Too bad.

If I can paraphrase the wise CanesAreAble, we don't need bodies, we need ballers.

Here you go with that TE **** again.

Get rid of all of them. Ain't a one of them that we can't replace.

I guess they have to be pretty confident with their DL recruiting to even think about doing this.

*backs off the ledge for now*

I know depth problems have made some of the moves necessary, but I don't like how this staff has moved guys around so much. These moves are at least in the beginning of these guys' careers though. Still baffled at Washington playing LT last year.

You might wanna tell that to the corching staff. They recruited those bodies.

Going after Grimble was the 1st bad sign from this staff.

Nevada DTs? :diaf:

Was basically a "flier" of a player that was highly rated from out west. USC didn't want him and his own brother is on the team. If it weren't for Miami, he'd probably be at Arizona State.

We took them when we had limited time to put a class together, the staff took tips on who they could flip and sign and one of them was Grimble.
