Sounds like defense is giving up too many "chunk" plays.

Honestly it's better than 15 play drives. They are also getting sacks and making 3rd down stops.
That's what we need.

It's not better if it's happening frequently. I'm seeing too many 20+ yard plays in this thread.

Dude, thats what good offenses do. Hopefully they're good enough to do it against legit defenses.

Good offenses don't do it that frequently to good defenses. I was hoping our defense had reached "good" level. Who the **** was I kidding?

I'll put the Defense on Coach D and Big Al solely this year. They better do something to get this D on track before Florida. If Coach D doesn't get his sh*t together, he might be looking for a job next year. Coach Golden will save himself before his friend. Well at least I hope he does.

In today's college football you better be able to score.

I look at 3 of the best defenses last year.

Alabama's d got sliced up pretty good against the 3 real teams they played in LSU, Texas A&M, and UGA.

They gave up over 400 yards per game average in those 3 games.

LSU's nasty defense gave up over 400 yards against Clemson, and Clemson ran like 100 plays on them.

UF's d got lit up by Bridgewater.

Point is good offenses are hard to stop.

Miami's got a very close to elite offense.

Numerous players on this offense should be playing in the NFL.

The d is getting better, but our offense is at another level.

Then Al should be sent packing with him. It means Golden wasted two seasons with a dud (if our defense isn't 100% better from game one, Dorrito is a dud). And 100% better doesn't mean a good defense by any strecth, we had the worst D of all time last year. Just the fact that we played ten yards off the recievers on 3rd and 4ish for 12 games last season is enough for me to say he is awful, but give him a game or two.

Yeah but he plays on the right side so he should be a rush end. We need someone to do it.

Shayon Green plays on the left side of the d-line/ the right side of the o-line.... the rush end usually lines up along the left side of the o-line, on the QBs blind side. He fits perfectly as a run stopping D-End who can hold the point of attack and thats his position on the field.

On 1st and 2nd downs he fits perfectly for the scheme.... last year was his 1st year, you think he's the ONLY player not to have improved after last season??? Even then he was the best d-lineman on the team.

The coaching staff will rotate rush ends when its time to rotate them, the d-line will rotate a lot like they always have done, its not like just b/c Shayon Green is starting that he is going to be on the field for every single snap of the game???? and obviously he must be doing something right to still be starting dont you think???

I just can't wait until the first game to see if the Defense is really better. Some people say the uf game, but I think we should have a decent gauge of the D after FAU game.
