Time for Robby Washington to step up at CB

Besides 5 star elite talents like Cici and Bain, who on the team has really been recruited and developed? Bissanthe, Fletcher, Bell, Arroyo and Horton? Moten is solid but nothing special.

McCoy and Cooper both have been shaky this season.

Juries still out on this staffs development skills
McCoy and cooper are both 3 stars who are above avg starters on one of the better olines in the country. What exactly are you expecting there? And what about the manny holdovers that got better under this staff? Guys like rivers restrepo or george…the staff doesn’t get points for developing them because they didn’t recruit them?

Juries out on McCoy, saw him against one legit d line this year (FSU) and he had a rough night.

I'm not the only one who feels this way:

Go ahead and list me the players on defense we've evaluated, signed and developed.

I’m really interested to see how that lineup of OJ/Porter on the outside. Powell at the nickel and Zaquan and Harris deep looks for a full game.

I personally think it would be more serviceable.
Totally agree. Switches 2 guys to their best position and brings in Zaguan. Gotta be better unless Z struggles-----but he's smart and its game 10 not game 1 of the freshman's year

yes
With Jadais Richard (hate to see him go down, praying for a speedy recovery) going down it's time for Robby Washington to step up. DMoney mentioned in the bank that this staff was looking to accelerate his development and now they have no choice. Washington brings speed and attitude to the position, let's see what he can do with more playing time.

Miami has a history of starters getting injured and the back up coming in and becoming a star, let's see if Washington can do the same.

yes!!! play him !!!

Last year Davis and Couch were available as punching bags. That is the only reason why he was able to go unscathed. He never looked like OJ at any point last season.

If I had to bet, I'd say Washington isn't a very good corner at the moment.
& Is he supposed to be? Just because someone has the tools to play a position doesn't mean they're ready to play it when it matters. You wanna stake our season on getting him experience? He should be getting situational reps and now he is. But people gotta temper they're expectations.

The snap count thread doesn’t show him with even one rep vs Duke though. There had to have been a way to get him a few looks?

Can Powell make his calls from Nickel? No one’s trusting Harris and a freshman to do it

I have no idea who you're talking to. I don't think he should be playing.

I was talking to you. But you reiterated my point. He shouldn't be a very good corner right now. He shouldn't even be a good corner right now realistically speaking. He's learning a new playbook and a new position from scratch no need to force that kid into that ****
