this has nothing to do with talent

Even if this is true, here's some options:

1. You're a scumbag because you lie.

2. You're a scumbag personally insulting players from the back.

3. You're a scumbag bragging about it on a message board.

Take your pick.
What is there to brag about???

I let him know my feelings I’ve been saying for past 10 weeks with his production and effort

This mindset gives me participation trophy vibes
Just being a realist. You don't go from not being able to get lined up to doing it perfectly 100% of the time.

If you didn't see some sort of improvement, you're blind.

I've given up on this d being good. They just need to be serviceable for what we need.

There's a difference between participation trophy vs giving up long ago.

Meh.

They had under 200 yards of offense.

First few Wake drives were fantastic. Our defense later shut them down.

It would be nice to find a middle ground that doesn't give up so much yardage/points over several drives. I'm not sure Wake was doing anything we hadn't seen in the prior 10 games of film. Not sure why the "adjustment" couldn't have been made at the beginning of the game.

But, yes, a very good statistical effort.

2 drives....this is 2024 where defense is an after thought if you watch any games.

Momentum led to the big change imo with the pick 6. They've been "adjusting" all year.

Defense is going to have to find away to capture momentum going forward.

That's why it gave me that vibe.

"Here is your trophy Timmy"

Timmy: " But I came in second to last"

You: " Yes but last time you came in last. I gave up on you being any good. Just as long as you improve"

Where am I giving them anything. They ******* suck. But they got better. Let's keep betting better.

I don't know the context or who posted it, but earlier this year someone had posted a coach's comment about how adjustments needed to be immediate, not "at at the beginning of the second half", and I agree.

10 games worth of adjustments in the second half and one where we started in the 2nd quarter?

Yay, I guess.

Again, I am not asking for 100% success. Sometimes the other team has great talent and great play-calling.

But multiple times during our ACC slate, we have played teams that should be AWFUL on offense or defense (or both) and we make them look like world-beaters. I agree with the "momentum" of the INT, though we gave up a fair share of the momentum with the ensuing KO return, after which we remained hopelessly mired in a 1-score affair for the next 30 minutes of gametime.

I'm simply asking for a good pre-game scouting report and a good pre-game strategy report when we play simple, predictable, not-great teams.

if you listened to guidry in his presser he mentioned them playing with confidence relating to better performance...yeah coach speak to a degree...but noteworthy
AND if you watch replays ( some of us do) - you do see guys pointing at each other or even looking around in confusion and then you see two following one kinda ****
is it POSSIBLE - that perhaps this is more on the players than the coaches as most in here would lead us to believe? is it POSSIBLE that this could be a conversation?

I don't think there is some kind of one-sided blame game here, not at least as how you perceive it.

Quite a few people have talked about the poor football IQ of numerous UM players in the back 7. At the same time, Guidry recruited a lot of those guys, and it is incumbent upon Guidry to simplify things if he is putting several knuckleheads on the field at the same time.

Earlier this season, Mr. "Multiple on the Front End and Multiple on the Back End" (the Florida DC) allowed his "system" to be simplified for the Florida Gator players who were failing within his system. Florida's defense has improved since then.

Whatever "Miami" (coaches and players) is doing on defense needs to be straightened out before someone beats us by 5 TDs.

I'm sure there's blame to share, but it looks to me like Guidry is being consistently out-schemed by opposing coordinators, and then scrambling to adjust.

@CANESCANES I don't think this thread is for you. There's nothing wrong with your account, you're just not welcome in this thread again.
