I don't get how this man Rumph can *** this up. With everything we have in our favor to land this kid, and to not close is a **** shame.

i know it's almost as if the kid got to choose where he wanted to go

you guys act like rumph told him not to come

Just disappointed that a kid who called Rumph a second father, has family that loves the U, and had been coached by Rumph since optimist decided to go to another school. I like Rumph and think he has done a good job coaching our guys up, but losing a 5* kid like this in your backyard with everything we have in our favor sucks.

And during the dead period where contact is limited somehow UGA won him over

Somehow?? Lmao, they were playing for the NC during the dead period.... that's what won him over.

Whats with the change in Campbells interest pete you said not too long ago that we were in the driver seat now we aint what was it?

Pete's sources seem to be with the team, whether it's players or staff. That's a close as you get to connected, but if the staff reads a kid wrong then what Pete hears can be inaccurate. Every time Pete's news is incorrect, it's almost invariably at a position we've been left with our pants down. Like RB last year, and Campbell/Jobe and CB this year. I hope it doesn't happen with DT this year, and the current positive news holds true there. If they are wrong on their read with Nesta and Briggs we are in a world of hurt. More so than with the CB position by a wide margin.

Agree

Edwards, Henderson, Wilson, Surtain, Jobe, Samuels, Campbell....

South Florida CBs have been absolutely pillaged under Richt/Rumph.

That HAS to change for us to get where we need to be.

How does it change....give me some answers solutions....all were gonna do is beat each others brains in here and point the finger and blame. From an outsider perspective (us as fans) what do you say or so different

It changes when you put together a better defensive staff. You have a good coach that hates recruiting, a decent coach who can't recruit, an arrogant DC that's average at best, and a solid recruiter who is an unproven coach. You have just one solid recruiter and a DC that thinks he's the second coming of Belichick and is turning down good local talents because of scheme/fit.

The offensive coaches found a way to put together an elite class at pretty much all position groups with honestly an inferior product to sell...

1) Miami won 10 games and played in the Orange Bowl
2) The defense got a lot of hype with the aggressive style and TO chain
3) The instate rival schools were a complete mess and went through coaching changes
4) Rumph and AH

In a year set up for Miami to clean up defensively, here we are a few weeks from SD with single commits at several spots (LB, DT, DE) and still scrambling to fill needs.

So we continue to lose elite SFla prospects to the SEC because of recent success or lack thereof but these kids don’t realize that we need for them to stay to help make miami great again

this is why you recruit guys like Divaad Wilson and give a f if he has beef with any of our recruits.

Going from Campbell to a Nigel Bethel is a big drop off. Got**** Uga might have Campbell and Divaad at cb..jeezus christ. Thats essentially in my mind the top cb in Dade as well as Broward.

All year i was a proponent of recruiting Wilson and Samuel Jr. Reason being Jobe was trolling obviously, and Campbell holds his recruiting close to the vest which would lead you to believe he isnt a lean to anyone.

To be honest Rumph is holding up a coaching spot..as we have 2 db coaches that barely equal to 1.

Another note..im not that down on Nigel Bethel as some are. VERY fast, has length, has tools you can work on at cb. Just hope whoever is our next db coach can bring it out.

Lol oh you already fired Rumph ??

Oly in my mind lol. If i was him i would take a look in the mirror if he doesnt land Campbell. I think he can be a good coach..but we dont need this much learning on the job

i dont get all the fuss... its one guy. We are pulling from Heritage (Herbert, Silvera, probably Chatfield) when we couldnt sniff their backups before Rumph/Richt. Losing one guy isnt the end of the world considering who we have gotten last year and this.

Get me the big uglies, way more important that Tyson Campbell (see Tracy Howard)

It's not one guy, it's several. Campbell, Surtain, Jobe, Samuel, Wilson, Joseph, and that's just in this class. I don't even remember all the failures at CB from last class but there were just as many.

We need an experienced defensive backs coach who can recruit.

Whats with the change in Campbells interest pete you said not too long ago that we were in the driver seat now we aint what was it?
He had bad information.

I don't know why this is that hard of a concept. His source was wrong. Rattler is in the same boat. They didn't know what was going on and they misread the situation or depended on someone who misread the situation. The sauces are incorrect so they are incorrect. Not hard

How close is this source to Campbell though that Pete got the info from the work today from though? That’s a pretty important detail because rattler as of two weeks ago or roughly said that Campbell told him he wanted to stay home but he is doing his due dilligience with visits and stuff and that’s coming directly from him after talking to him. Regardless the staff has work to do here period either way.

They didnt want samuel because he is small.

Yet we took bandy last year and he ended up being our best corner smh the whole height thing is retarded with coaches

Bandy is bigger than samuel.

Not by a lot, if a kid can play the whole height thing shouldn’t matter, samuels was the best cover corner in SoFl and he wanted to be a cane but we slow played him, he should have been a cane

Lol If Samuel wanted to be a cane he would be. He wanted to rep FSU it's that simple. You think a real UM fan with an offer to play for them, would really say nah im going to FSU??

No one has ever had any real solid info on whete TC was leaning. EVER. Including Pete. He’s kept his cards close to the vest. Never named a leader.

Now some say that means Miami was never in the picture to begin with. That’s one interpretation. Fact is, I don’t know, Pete doesn’t know, you don’t know, I don’t know, maybe he himself doesn’t know.

If that means he’s not coming to Miami then he’s not coming to Miami.

If that means Rumph did a shltty job recruiting him and he’s not coming to Miami, he’s not coming to Miami.

If that means Rumph did a great job recruiting him, but he’s still not coming to Miami, then he’s not coming to Miami.

Or he could end up coming to Miami. Or Georgia. Or Alabama.
As I’ve been saying all along, unless somebody has something solid,

NOBODY.

FŪCKING.

KNOWS.

We shall see man, it aint looking too good now with pete jumping on with the other writers
