I don't get how this man Rumph can *** this up. With everything we have in our favor to land this kid, and to not close is a **** shame.

i know it's almost as if the kid got to choose where he wanted to go

you guys act like rumph told him not to come

Just disappointed that a kid who called Rumph a second father, has family that loves the U, and had been coached by Rumph since optimist decided to go to another school. I like Rumph and think he has done a good job coaching our guys up, but losing a 5* kid like this in your backyard with everything we have in our favor sucks.

And during the dead period where contact is limited somehow UGA won him over

Whats with the change in Campbells interest pete you said not too long ago that we were in the driver seat now we aint what was it?

So we slow play Samuel to get TC and get neither.

They didnt want samuel because he is small.

Yet we took bandy last year and he ended up being our best corner smh the whole height thing is retarded with coaches

Bandy is bigger than samuel.

Not by a lot, if a kid can play the whole height thing shouldn’t matter, samuels was the best cover corner in SoFl and he wanted to be a cane but we slow played him, he should have been a cane

By a lot. Samuel listed at 160 and bandy is 180.

If we get the right guys putting pressure on the qb than I could play DB next year. I'm waiting for the "but he was wearing the Canes wristband repping the U."

Honestly Rumph knowing the family all those years could of been a negative. Maybe TC and family felt he learned as much as he could from Rumph. Its not a knock, its just what it is. Same reason why Tiger switches swing coaches every so often, you learn what you can and move on.

Let's not hate on Rumph. He is our guy and he is a Cane for life. If we would of been in the playoff maybe TC looks at us differently who knows. I think some of us forget we **** the bed the last 3 games especially the PITT game. We didn't look good at all. We will start winning the battles more when we get closer to competing for a NC. I'll hang up and listen now.

i dont get all the fuss... its one guy. We are pulling from Heritage (Herbert, Silvera, probably Chatfield) when we couldnt sniff their backups before Rumph/Richt. Losing one guy isnt the end of the world considering who we have gotten last year and this.

Get me the big uglies, way more important that Tyson Campbell (see Tracy Howard)

Rumph is a really good coach but this would be a terrible miss for the staff. In an interview from the army game Campbell listed rumph as the only Miami coach he trusted but listed Ansley and Saban from bama, tucker, coley and smart from uga. Are we sure Diaz and richt pulling their weight here? I asked this last week too

So its a weight thing now? Thats the next excuse for them not to take him? He still was the best corner in SoFl

All this complaining is a slap in the face to kids like Frierson, Blades, etc.

We like those guys but r we going into georgia and stealing there 5 star db? If this keeps happening we wont beat those types of teams. Yea we will win the coastal but thats it

Its going to keep happening. Florida boys don't seem to give a shît about leaving.

Jobe, Surtain, and Campbell are better prospects than Freirson, Ivey, and Blades.

Theyre better prospects on the internet looking at rankings on a website. But on the field i cant tell the differecence, especially with Hall included. Our current db class is 2nd to no one in terms of overall talent and potential.

Our DB class is behind Georgia's, Alabama's and Texas'... just off the top of my head. Besides Hall, we didn't get the best of the best down in South Florida this year.

It's very unfortunate and changes need to be made to fix the issue.

I would love to be a fly on the wall for Rumph's recruiting pitch. Dude can't sell a pile of **** to flies.

It's basically the football version of this -

Samuel is also slower and less athletic and would say less physical

Whats with the change in Campbells interest pete you said not too long ago that we were in the driver seat now we aint what was it?

Pete's sources seem to be with the team, whether it's players or staff. That's a close as you get to connected, but if the staff reads a kid wrong then what Pete hears can be inaccurate. Every time Pete's news is incorrect, it's almost invariably at a position we've been left with our pants down. Like RB last year, and Campbell/Jobe and CB this year. I hope it doesn't happen with DT this year, and the current positive news holds true there. If they are wrong on their read with Nesta and Briggs we are in a world of hurt. More so than with the CB position by a wide margin.

How quickly the homers have changed their tune. Looks like some are still defending Rumph at all costs. Weird.

If Campbell leaves S FL, Rumph needs to be fired. Maybe the off field recruiting guys need to fired as well.

Canes had a terrible end to the season. might be what helped turn the tide

I doubt that because there was some UGA chatter before that, we still have the better depth chart, system that fits what hes good at, and his supposed mentor all of those things should counter that

And yet the kid doesn't want to play for his community. Love to have the kid. A kid who competes as a day 1 starter. Jobe was never coming anddid us a favor going to Tuscaloosa. Surtain is SEC all the way. That being said we roll with Ivey and Blades and Frierson and Hall. Talented kids who love their community and love the university. Miami is loading up on offense. Looks like we're going to close well at defensive tackle. That needs to hold up.

U tell me if saban or meyer were at UM these guys would leave? No way they would leave.....we have to play the game

Which is why we shouldn't depend exclusively on these South Florida boys. Recruit other states.

With so much DB talent in So Fla, our staff would get shet for not focusing on the local guys.
Got to keep on working.
The culture is changing.
We all want everything sooner, I know.
It will happen.

We say that every year.

I think a coach that builds his program depending on the whims of flaky South Florida divas.... that coach is a fool.

Like someone else said... you pretty much know which local kids want to be Canes early on. Get those kids signed in the early period, and be on some national kids to make up for the local kids who are inevitably going to leave.

There will be Josh Jobe's and Tyson Campbells in every class, no matter what. The coaches need to plan around it. And NO, Nigel Bethel does not count for "planning around" losing Campbell/Jobe/Samuel/Wilson/etc.

Whats with the change in Campbells interest pete you said not too long ago that we were in the driver seat now we aint what was it?

No one has ever had any real solid info on whete TC was leaning. EVER. Including Pete. He’s kept his cards close to the vest. Never named a leader.

Now some say that means Miami was never in the picture to begin with. That’s one interpretation. Fact is, I don’t know, Pete doesn’t know, you don’t know, I don’t know, maybe he himself doesn’t know.

If that means he’s not coming to Miami then he’s not coming to Miami.

If that means Rumph did a shltty job recruiting him and he’s not coming to Miami, he’s not coming to Miami.

If that means Rumph did a great job recruiting him, but he’s still not coming to Miami, then he’s not coming to Miami.

Or he could end up coming to Miami. Or Georgia. Or Alabama.
As I’ve been saying all along, unless somebody has something solid,

NOBODY.

FŪCKING.

KNOWS.
