this is becoming so depressing. if we lost kids because of penn st. i am gonna really have a had time stomaching golden.

I dont think that was a deciding factor on any of these kids. It may have scared a few, but AG could have easily spun that and put it to rest on the phone with them. Kids that are flaking were kids that were having concerns for other reasons as well. Not to say the PSU thing didnt make some think twice, or maybe gave some pause, but Im not buying that it was a major factor for anyone.

Hey, I don't know **** about this Cali dude we're after, but Njoku does nothing for me. It's a tough pill to swallow when you see Rudolph, Dizon, and Lane all tell you no thanks, forcing you to take a kid like Njoku. You can't complain we have no talent in the team, then go 0-3 on the top WRs in south Florida. I'm just saying.

Lets see, been recruiting him since the 8th grade. Recruited him hard as ****. Kid claims he is a lifelong Canes fan. Loves us. Had been to campus tons of times on unofficial visits. Commits to UGA (SEC) out of the blue, and REFUSES to even meet with our coaches, take their calls, or even come on an OV. And now is reportedly still "open", but still wont even consider UM.

Dont know what that tells you, but it seems pretty clear to me what's going on there.

That he's willing to give up the UGA money to go elsewhere but not to go to UM?

Maybe we are the ONLY school NOT offering money.

Dastardly fans screwed UM again. We must have got a different group of fans after Butch Davis left because they didn't seem to affect him.

Everyone is busy crying about Cook and Sony (Powell is not that caliber), but our biggest recruiting shortcoming has been at WR. Going 0-3 on those 3, especially Lane and Rudolph is unacceptable
 
Pete - Are we expecting any more of our current commits to be let go by the staff?

Also, what is the magic number we can sign on NSD?
 
I was actually very impressed by Njoku's film. can't say the same about Lenius outside of his big frame.

there's this new little thing called SOCIAL MEDIA that he didn't have to deal with….

I see. That makes sense. I guess other teams don't have fans that use social media. Just UM fans.

And that would make sense, considering UM is on NCAA probation, and coming off the Shapiro disaster, which pretty much FORCES UM to be on its best behavior. Not that it would be able to compete with the $$$ the SEC throws around under normal circumstances.

I graduated from an SEC school and have a good friend in the Athletic Department. They all pay for play. Usually give the family a lump sum payment up front to sign and will even promise monthly payments if it's a big time recruit.

I know this is not a news flash but I have heard straight from the horses mouth.

Am not going to say NJouku is going to be great or not, I have no idea. But you guys are always fawning over Butch, what Butch was great at was finding these kids of kids. The kids who had great measurables and were getting READY to explode at the next level, not the kids who were already studs at the HS level. To me, the Leinus kid out of Cali certainly fits that bill. Moved around a lot, came from Canada, just turned 17, great measurables, still growing. That has all the makings of a hidden gem.

Of course these kids can just as easily not amount to jack, but I think both these kids have a lot of potential.
