The running game

My point is we should have ran more. Like a whole ahzzload more!

Cam or not, we should have ran more. More ball control would have kept Guidry's defense off the field for longer. It's one of the most winningest recipes in football; Good running, hard D!

The only time a TuFf & FyZiCaL offense does anything worth a **** it's because they have an amazing defense. We did not have anything close to an average defense so 3 yards and a cloud of dust while only scoring 24 points a games makes us 3-9 this season.

I don't understand why you and so many others think running the ball is the answer. Look at Iowa and Kentucky for the perfect examples of what you want.

Yea, they'll have a good team every year but like our 2016, 2017 teams. They have defenses that can win them the game but offenses that lose them the game

Miami needs another RB from the portal.

Who knows how Lyle's play goes from adding 100+ carreis over the course of the season and not playing vs 2nd stringers in blowout games.
Fletcher really should be getting less carries next year if hes going to constantly fumble.
The staff is really going to trust Pringle enough in situations to come in and take 50-75 carries as a 175 lb true freshman??
Will they get anything out of CWH?

Thats not counting injuries, which Miami was lucky to avoid last year. Giving Lofton carries only takes him away from his natural position and like others have said, Fletcher kind of makes him redundent.
Gotta give CHW a chance. Lyle is the most explosive and CHW has some speed as well.

Stop arguing against ball control and a good defense being a winning recipe.

James. moofuchka... it's ball control baby.

It's hard to recruit a Portal RB without promising carries. We were able to stack the room last year because Lyle was a true freshman and Fletcher was hurt.

You probably lose Lyle or Fletcher to the Portal if you bring in an expensive back. It could be an upgrade but you still end up with the same depth problem (and less money).
Any reason why we didn't recruit 2 RBs for 2025 high school class instead of only Pringle

Don't know. This would've been a better bet, given the departures of Allen and CJ.

I think we bring in another back but we probably would've gotten a more talented option out of HS.
That would have been a great scenario have our main guys in Fletcher & Lyle. Then the 3rd back would of been talented freshman competition with Pringle. Then we know we would have a very talented 3 or 4 man rotation at RB as well as good depth.

Are you stupid or just dense?

We were top 5 in yards per attempt, top 30 in rushing yards per game, and 14th in ball control aka Time of Possession. We could not have gotten any better this year by doing anything on different offense.

Nowhere did you suggest anything about defense in your original poRst i responded to.

You say you are arguing defense but you said

THE OFFENSE NEEDS TO RUN THE BALL MORE

What part of running the ball, time of possession, or a far inferior QB does the defense have a part in?

You're trying to convince me our Defense was bad? Think about that? Who thinks it was good? Who said that? I don't need to say what's understood.

We could have ran better. Controlled the clock better. Kept the defense off the field... better!

We prob should’ve taken Byron Louis. Or get ajay Allen back. If not we need to add an rb. Also if a good rb is available or a stud like martinez and it makes fletcher want to leave. You make that trade all day

Oh you’re right. We couldn’t have done anything about the defense.

We couldn’t have fired Guidry, played someone other than #7 at safety, or anything!

Cam Ward was the reason this season was a failure. Castellanos or Emory would’ve had us 14-0 currently. I mean we saw it in the Bowl game what happens when we pond the rock and don’t have a passing game. We also saw it in 2022, we win games!!!

Oh wait…

@Empirical Cane @OrangeBowlMagic can you please get this muppet?

I mean, he's the one who is attempting to have a rational discussion. What good would firing Guidry in the middle of the season have done?

A rational discussion by suggesting we have Thomas Castellanos at QB instead of Cam Ward?

PSU rbs are dirt slow and will be exposed vs a team there size and as fast or faster. Dont see them keeping that running game going when the comp gets tougher.
I hear you, but they’re in the semis. Not many chances left to get exposed. If they’re in the final 4 they’ve basically passed the tests.
