So its Dawson, Streeter, or Coley as the OC?
Yikes, this is completely underwhelming. Sure am glad to hear Mario is close to finishing up interviews. If he's still chatting, then he misfired on some of his early candidates.
Haven't heard mention of Collin Klein lately, but if these are the finalists he should be on Mario's interview list. ****, throw a couple mill at Kliff Kingsbury and convince him to rebuild the resume in college vs NFL. Just amazed the "interview process'' has dragged on and we're talking marginal characters.

Candle solid . Dawson solid. Neither great , neither bad. Streeter 🤮
I don't get why Dawson gets a nod over Streeter.
Honestly, I can't see a program with aspirations picking Streeter. He needs to build up at a G5 stop after Dabo gave him the vote of no confidence after just one year.
Scapegoat for trouble in paradise IMO. Dabo got by with a lot bc of winning but he's underachieved lately.

Does dawson even call plays at Houston or does Dana?
I know he called plays in 2021 and the 1st half of 2022, some Houston fans think Holgerson took over play calling the 2nd half which is why they improved but I couldn't find a definite answer.

Klein pulled his name from ND search and Kliff is interviewing with Texans..

Streeter is a tough read. My gut tells me that as an OC he's probably not as bad as some believe here but he's also just not a great OC.

2021 with Elliott (.....these stats got him the UVA job)
79th: F+ Offense ranking
88th: Scoring offense

2022 with Streeter
44th: F+ Offense ranking
24th: Scoring offense

Not saying Streeter should be the guy but I just don't think he's horrible. Probably deserves an OC spot at a G5 program to prove himself first.

But as a QB coach though, I think he'd be a **** good hire. So if we go a Seth Litrell type of route where OC isn't QB coach than Streeter is someone that I would be happy with as QB coach.

Trevor Lawrence, Cade Klubnik, DJ Uaig(whatever), Hunter Johnson (former 5 star), and Christopher Vizzina this year. I mean. That's an insane haul.
I think we could do better than Streeter but I dont get the hate either. To tag onto your F+ stats, he drastically improved the offense as a first year OC. (these stats are prior to bowl games, FBS opponents only). And with the same ****** QB / average personnel. If we took the name away and said it was some young up and comer running a air raid offense people would be sucking off these kinds of results...

That's what 35 throw power in NCAA 2014 looks like in real life.

You are entitled to your opinion on the situation, I just don't think that oversimplifying it is accurate. There's more than one category of mutual interest, that is all.

Fair enough. Hopefully the mutual interest results in an explosive offense, more importantly, Ws.

Crazy the amount of talent we had on some of those all golden offenses. Just look at 2013

QB Stephen Morris
RB Duke Johnson
WR Allen Hurns
WR Phillip Dorsett
WR Stacey Coley
TE Clive Warford
LT Ereck Flowers
LG Jon Feliciano
C Brandon Linder
RG Danny Isodora
RT Sentrel Henderson

That entire offense outside of maybe Morris went on to play in the NFL and actually play

Those were talented teams. For all the Richt "super recruiter" and "program builder" hype, Golden was actually a better recruiter and talent evaluator. And that was while the ncaa was trying to castrate the program.

Strange how Canes fans were obsessed with getting a super recruiter as HC when Richt got hired , but turns out that a guy who didn't have that reputation managed to do it better.

Klein was always going to be a tough pull from K-State. If Kingsbury has decided not to sit out, then make him an offer. If flush with cash, make a move.
