Not sure if hes been brought up already but according to David lake

Brandon Streeter interviewed on Tuesday

James Coley on Thursday

Shannon Dawson will interview this weekend

Looks like Candle is staying at Toledo

Doug Nussmier smoke is dying

He doesn't like timeline but thinks we should hear something by Monday/Tuesday

There were other candidates who interviewed he didn't get the greenlight to mention and he sure there are names he doesn't know about.

Cristobal just goes after such much bad, it’s hard to be optimistic.

Dawson has had one offense ranked in the F+ Top 50 his entire career.

Coley’s offenses suck.

Candle was his dreamboat and his offense are in the 70s to 90s now.

Nuss’ are in the 70 to 90s.

It’s just guys that make up the bottom of the barrel in terms of offensive production. It’s hard to root for any of them. And then believe the unknowns are worth a ****, because they probably have to be in-line with the ones we do know.

Position coach.

Position coach.

Backup plan, if not position coach.

Probably.

Thank God.

Maybe.

Obviously, but it's still a garbage report.

Oh, and yes, all of that David Lake nonsense was previously reported.

He prints names that "Mario" says it's okay to print??...What is Mario, the Godfather??...JFC....What Mario Corleone says is okay to print, or else....

Look, I agree with you, it's just funny to see Gaby finally admit to it.

And I think Mario is wasting his time on counter-intel operations.

Stop yanking on the paid media's puppet strings and just hire a guy like Johns, and then we can all act like the last couple of months never happened.

Just because some of these names are interviewing doesn’t mean it’s for play caller.

Agreed. I'm just hoping that everything lake is reporting is bull**** but we already know Candle was offered the job.

That is a weak *** argument. FIU didn't play the same schedule Miami did. They played against teams at their same talent level. I know what he did at Utah St., but his offense sucked last year. Bottom Line.
people really don’t realize how bad fiu is.
It’s so bad that a coach got fired from there and a few years later won the PAC 12.

To be fair there just aren't a lot of slam dunk hires out there. Usually proven OCs who have had legit long term success are either HCs, NFL OCs or are OCs at major power 5 school's and aren't going anywhere. Then there is everyone else, and that doesn't mean everyone else wants the job so you got to subtract from even that list. Unfortunately this is what you get when you are building a program with a CEO style HC. Really there have been only 3 Legit slam dunk options this off-season, Phil Longo who wasn't coming here, Garrett Riley who very likely would of picked Clemson over us and Brian Johnson who we don't know is interested returning to college.

Lake just put out an update 5 mins ago:

- confirmed Streeter interviewed this week. Didn’t specify for what role, but he did interview

- confirmed Coley interviewed this week. Same as above.

- confirmed Shannon Dawson is interviewing this weekend

- buzz around Nuss is dwindling

- feeling is Candle will stay at Toledo, but it’s not totally dead yet

- there are more names he knows of but doesn’t have the green light to publish. He also believes more interviews will take place this weekend. Says he struggles to put a timeline on it but really believes someone is hired by Monday/Tuesday at the latest
I just want it add he doesn’t have any other names he just saying that so it seems like he knows more than he does .

I would love to see guys like Streeter as QB coach and Coley at WR coach.

But do you think he really go that heavily on offense with on field staff? With 5 on field guys plus an OC, leaving only 4 on field for defense?

There actually is , you have to be worth your salt as an evaluator of coaching talent. Even if it’s a young up and comer on a lower level. There’s talent out there.
